Provider Practice Preferences

The Provider Practice Preferences enable you to set up user-defined patient provider fields that define, at the practice level, the different types of providers that a patient has seen or is scheduled to see. It also enables you to track multiple user-defined patient providers at a demographic level. The information you enter here displays: The provider in the Provider master file on the Provider Types tab. The Preference Name field on the Add Patient Provider window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Viewing the Patient Information Bar

To use the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, you must configure the Practice Preferences. For more information on configuring Practice Preferences for the Patient Information Bar, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Preferences Guide forNextGen®Enterprise, and then see the Patient Information Bar Preferences section. The chart user preferences must be set up to enable the Patient Information Bar to appear on the patient chart during charge posting and payment entry in NextGen® Enterprise PM. User preferences override the practice preferences. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart You can open the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. Open the Patient Information Bar in Charge Posting You can open the Patient Information Bar in the Charge Posting window. The Patient Information Bar in practice preferences enable you to select whether the Patient Information Bar displays in the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM and what patient information displays on the bar. You can also configure Practice Preferences to display the Patient Information Bar in Charge Entry and Payment Entry. Patient Demographic Information. You can select up to three types of demographic information to display on the Patient Information Bar. Chart Link. You can decide whether to display optional information as a link on the Patient Information Bar. The patient information bar practice preferences enable you to display or hide patient information bar and patient demographic information in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can also select which pop-up templates to open. Patient Information. You can select up to three types of demographic information to display in the patient information bar. Alerts. You can select and customize NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts to display in the patient information bar. Appointment Hover. You can configure the number of appointments that you want to display when you point to Appointments in the patient information bar. You can select up to five historical and five future appointments to display on the patient information bar. All future appointments with the status BOOKED are displayed.
