Open the Patient Information Bar in Charge Posting

Before you begin Practice and user preferences must be set in charge posting to enable the Patient Information Bar. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Charges. The Charge Posting window opens displaying the Patient Information Bar. The Patient Information Bar does not display any information until a patient is selected. Charge Posting Window for Patient Information Bar Search for and select the patient and encounter to record charges. The information for the selected patient displays in the Patient Information Bar. Note: If you access the Charge Posting window from the Appointment Book or Encounters tab of the chart, the patient data automatically appears in the Patient Information Bar. Viewing the Patient Information Bar

To use the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, you must configure the Practice Preferences. For more information on configuring Practice Preferences for the Patient Information Bar, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Preferences Guide forNextGen®Enterprise, and then see the Patient Information Bar Preferences section. The chart user preferences must be set up to enable the Patient Information Bar to appear on the patient chart during charge posting and payment entry in NextGen® Enterprise PM. User preferences override the practice preferences. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart You can open the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. Open the Patient Information Bar in Charge Posting You can open the Patient Information Bar in the Charge Posting window. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart

Before you begin You must set the Practice and user preferences, to enable the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. For more information on the patient chart, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Accounts and Patient Records User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Search for and select the patient using the available search criteria. The patient chart opens displaying the Patient Information Bar, where you can exclusively select Patient Chart Lookup and Open Menu to search for patients, set an active patient, and manage the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment. Patient Lookup and Open Menu Buttons The Patient Chart Lookup button opens the Patient Lookup window, while the Open Menu button displays options to modify the patient's records. Open the Patient Information Bar in Payment Entry

Before you begin Practice and user preferences must be set to enable the Patient Information Bar in payment entry. You can open the Patient Information Bar in the Payment Entry window. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Posting. The Batch Posting window opens. Select and then select New to create a batch or Open to open an existing batch. The Payment Entry window opens, displaying the Patient Information Bar. Note: The Patient Information Bar does not show any information until a patient is selected. Search for and select the patient whose payments you want to record. Information for the selected patient appears in the Patient Information Bar.
