Practice Preferences for the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® EDR

Field Name	Description
Show Patient Information Bar	Select this option to display the patient information bar in NextGen® EDR.
Patient Information	Select this option to display a maximum of three types of information on the patient information bar in NextGen® EDR.
Display PM Alerts	Select this option to display the PM tab in the Patient Alerts window for viewing NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts.
PM Visual Indicators	Select this option to display the count of NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts on the Alerts button on the patient information bar. If both NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts exist, the total count includes both alerts.
Appointment Hover	Select the number of historical and future appointments to display when you hover over the Appointment section on the patient information bar. Future appointments with Booked status are displayed. Appointments with KEPT and No show status are displayed in the section with past appointments.

The patient information bar practice preferences enable you to display or hide patient information bar and patient demographic information in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can also select which pop-up templates to open. Patient Information. You can select up to three types of demographic information to display in the patient information bar. Alerts. You can select and customize NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts to display in the patient information bar. Appointment Hover. You can configure the number of appointments that you want to display when you point to Appointments in the patient information bar. You can select up to five historical and five future appointments to display on the patient information bar. All future appointments with the status BOOKED are displayed. The appointments with the status KEPT and NoShow are displayed in the Past Appointments section. Note: Both historical and future appointments are determined by the system date. From the Preference List, select Patient Information Bar, and then select PM tab. Select the Show Patient Information Bar check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Charge Posting, select the In Charge Entry check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Payment Entry, select the In Payment Entry check box. Define which information to display on the bar in the Patient Information section. Define which information to display on the bar in the Chart Link section. For each Field that you want to be accessible from the Patient Information Bar, do the following: In the Table field, select the Open File and then select a table.
