NextGen® Enterprise PM Patient Information Bar Descriptions

The following tables provide additional descriptions for the Patient Demographic Information and Alerts section of PM Patient Information Bar. Use this table when setting up the PM Patient Information Bar Practice Preferences. Patient Demographic Information You can select up to three types of demographic information to display on the Patient Information Bar. Select this check box... To display... Set Up Patient Information Bar Practice Preferences for NextGen® Enterprise PM

From the Preference List, select Patient Information Bar, and then select PM tab. Select the Show Patient Information Bar check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Charge Posting, select the In Charge Entry check box. To display the Patient Information Bar on the Payment Entry, select the In Payment Entry check box. Define which information to display on the bar in the Patient Information section. Define which information to display on the bar in the Chart Link section. For each Field that you want to be accessible from the Patient Information Bar, do the following: In the Table field, select the Open File and then select a table. In the Field field, select a field from the table to display the field value on the Patient Information Bar. In the Display Label field, enter a label for the field on the Patient Information Bar. The Patient Information Bar in practice preferences enable you to select whether the Patient Information Bar displays in the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM and what patient information displays on the bar. You can also configure Practice Preferences to display the Patient Information Bar in Charge Entry and Payment Entry. Patient Demographic Information. Practice Preferences for the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® EDR

The table describes the preferences that you can set for the patient information bar in NextGen® EDR. Field Name Description Show Patient Information Bar Select this option to display the patient information bar in NextGen® EDR. Patient Information Select this option to display a maximum of three types of information on the patient information bar in NextGen® EDR. Display PM Alerts Select this option to display the PM tab in the Patient Alerts window for viewing NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts. PM Visual Indicators Select this option to display the count of NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts on the Alerts button on the patient information bar. If both NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts exist, the total count includes both alerts. Appointment Hover Select the number of historical and future appointments to display when you hover over the Appointment section on the patient information bar. Set Up Practice Preferences for Patient Information Bar

In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. The Practice List window opens. Double-click a practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences and select Patient Information Bar from the Preference List pane. Note: The EDR tab is selected by default. To display patient information bar in NextGen® EDR, select Show Patient Information Bar. In the Patient Information section, select the required check boxes to display in the patient information bar. In Alerts section, select the required check boxes to display in the patient information bar. In the Appointment Hover section, select the number of historical and future appointments you wish to see when you hover over Appointment section in the patient information bar. Select OK.
