Managing Status Information

The Status tab appears only when the Enable patient status option is enabled on the Chart practice preferences. You can select a specific status for a person or patient in the practice, and also document a reason for changing the patient's status. The Immunization Registry Information section of the tab appears only when the Show Immunization Registry Patient Status in PM check box is enabled on the External practice preferences. In this section, you can enter immunization information for a patient in the practice that is needed for submission to an Immunization Registry. The information is saved for established patients with an existing chart, and for new patients when the chart is created. Information on the Status tab is stored at the practice level; therefore, each practice can enter and maintain different information for a person or patient. Create an Appointment

NextGen recommends to create and manage appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM, not in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, if you use NextGen® Enterprise PM as your scheduling source. Appointments created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR are not communicated to NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR only if you have the View by Provider display setting enabled. If you select View by Resource, you cannot create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You may also create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR if you use a third-party scheduling application instead of NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can create an appointment in the Appointments tab of the Workflow module. You can create a custom status for the appointment. Select a patient. View a Patient's Appointments

You can view a patient's appointments. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Patient Information Card, select the Patient Tracking button. Note: Patient Tracking is available only when the patient has an active encounter dated Today. For all other encounters, the Patient Tracking button appears as New Encounter. The Todays Patient Tracking template opens. Select EHR Appointments. The Patient Appointments template opens. Patient Appointments The When, Provider, and Location fields contain the current date and time, provider name, and practice location. In the View section, select the By Provider option to enable the Add and Search buttons if the permission is granted in the System Administrator application. The Appointments section displays both past and future appointments. Setup Access Rights for Group Scheduling

To work with patient groups, group appointments, and group encounters in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR, users must have security access rights in System Administrator. Access System Administrator. The NextGen System Administrator window opens. On the left, select to expand an enterprise and then a practice. Select a user group within the practice. Select the Rights tab.
