Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for NextGen® PxP Portal Users

You can turn on MFA security for your practice NextGen® PxP Portal users during logon in Site Generator. Open Site Generator, and then select NextGen Healthcare Site Administration. The Site Generator page opens. Search for and select your practice. From Administrator - Setup/Access, select Online Solutions > Edit Your Online Solutions.The Manage Your Online Solutions page opens. Select the Activate Solution checkbox next to Multi-Factor Authentication, and then select Confirm Your Changes.The Multi-Factor Authentication option appears on the Site Generator home page under Portal Solutions. Select Multi-Factor Authentication, and in Multi-Factor Authentication Settings, make the necessary changes, and then select Save.By default, MFA is turned on for both mobile and email. You can turn off email authentication if necessary. To ensure account security, users are prompted to complete MFA every 30 days by default. However, you can change the duration to 60 or 90 days. Set Up Patient Messaging

Open Site Generator, and then select NextGen Healthcare Site Administration. The Site Generator page opens. From Portal Solutions, select Patient Messaging.The Patient Messaging page opens. Enter the email address in Default Reply to email Address. To add the SMS preference option for patient communication in NextGen® PxP Portal, select the SMS option and then select Save. To add attachments to your messages in Practice Portal, select Enable Attachment in "My Messages". To make My Labs available in NextGen® PxP Portal, select Enable "My Labs" in Patient Portal. Set Up Ask A Staff Questions for Patient Communication

In Ask A Staff, which provides bi-directional patient communication, you can define an unlimited set of question labels. Open Site Generator, and then select NextGen Healthcare Site Administration. The Site Generator page opens. From Portal Solutions, select Ask A Staff. The Ask A Staff Configuration Options page opens. To add a question label, select Add a New Entry. A new row labelled Click to Edit appears. To change the label name, select Edit Label. To enable providers to prescribe medications, document CPT®, and diagnostic codes, select the corresponding Allow Clinical check box. To add providers and staff members to the NextGen® PxP Portal website, select the corresponding Specific to Individuals check box. To turn on the document attachment options, select the corresponding Allow Attachments checkbox. To set up permissions for a question label, select the corresponding Setup Permissions link. Manage Active and Inactive Personnel

You can view and update the personnel information for a particular location. You can also manage the proxies, permissions, and logon information for the personnel. Open Site Generator, and then select NextGen Healthcare Site Administration. The Site Generator page opens. From Administrator - Setup/Access, select Personnel (Non Physicians) > List All Personnel. The Manage Your Personnel page opens. To list the personnel based on their location, select List All Personnel by Location, and select a location from the list. The personnel list for the selected location appears. To add personnel for the selected practice, select Add New Personnel. To modify personnel details or permissions, select Edit Personnel or Manage Permissions respectively. To update logon information, select Login Info. The Manage Your Personnel Information page opens. Note: You can edit your logon information and remove a saved password on the Login info tab. You cannot set up proxies and permissions for inactive user

Billing Question Setup from Site Generator

Scenario Example 1: Practice wants to have a billing question available on the NextGen® PxP Portal. They have one workgroup or multiple user who receives all messages related to Billing Question. Even though they have multiple physical locations on NextGen® PxP Portal, they would prefer no location or provider combination since the messages are going to the same recipients regardless. How to create Ask a Staff label? Log on to Site Generator. From Portal Solution, click Ask a Staff. Under Ask a Staff labels, select the Specific to Individuals and Allow Attachments check boxes for billing question label. Add a Message to Display on Practice Portal

You can add messages to display on the main Practice Portal page by using the Practice Portal Broadcasts feature of Site Generator. Open Site Generator, and then select NextGen Healthcare Site Administration. The Site Generator page opens. From Portal Solutions, select Practice Portal Broadcasts. The Practice Portal Broadcasts page opens. Select Add new broadcast. The Post Broadcast page opens. Enter the title, message text, personnel types, and locations. Select or clear the Active Message check box to activate or deactivate the Patient Portal Broadcasts message. Note: Title is for internal use only. The added text in Title does not appear on the Sign In page of NextGen® Enterprise Practice Portal. Select or clear the Active Message checkbox to activate or deactivate the Patient Portal Broadcasts message. Select Submit.
