Managing Practice Configuration

The available features in PxP Portal Integration Tool enable you to manage various practice-level configurations. Note: Before making practice-level configurations, ensure that you have completed the global and enterprise-level configurations for system administrators. As part of practice configuration, you can establish the RSDK API workflows for information exchange between NextGen® Enterprise and NextGen® PxP Portal, select the appointment request category for a practice, and configure a default user for the Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs) posted to NextGen® PxP Portal. Practice Configuration Options You can set several practice-level configuration options to control system behavior. Open the NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool from NextGen Enterprise EHR

Before you begin Ensure you have installed Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome on the server, and ensure you have the rights to access the NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool. Note: The NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool can only be accessed using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Template window Select the PxP Integration UI template and select the OK button. The PxP Integration UI template opens displaying the URL for accessing the NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool. NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool Requirements for NextGen Pay powered by InstaMed Agents

You can view the agents relevant to the payment solution under Payments in the Solutions tab on PxP Portal Integration Tool. You can search for the agents on the Agent Configuration tab to view the agent configuration. These agents must be running for the NextGen® Pay and Statement solutions to integrate with NextGen® Enterprise PM. Agent Name Description Balance Updates Obtains the updated account balance from NextGen® Enterprise PM and sends it to NextGen® PxP Portal for enrolled patients. Note: NextGen Healthcare polls for patient balance changes every 60 minutes If the patient pays their balance in full or partial through the NextGen® PxP Portal, there is no balance displayed to the patient within the portal until an update to the patient’s balance, or a new charge, occurs in NextGen® Enterprise PM. NextGen® PxP Portal within NextGen® Enterprise EHR: is a secure, web-based application that enables patients and providers to work together on: Patient Enrollment: send an enrollment email to patients who can select the invitation link in the email and complete the enrollment Secure Messaging: send secure messages to patients, reply to messages sent by patients, or save the communications in the patient’s chart Appointment Scheduling: view appointment requests in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Workflow module to accept the request or provide an alternate appointment schedule; if your practice has enabled the Real-time schedule, patients can select an available time slot and book the appointment themselves Prescription Refills: patients can request prescription renewals and review the status of their requests; you can either accept or reject the request and include a comment with the response Patient Chart Updates: send data from the patient’s chart to patients’ NextGen® PxP Portal account
