Setting up Routing Rules for Patient Messages

Message routing rules help you route incoming messages, appointment requests and, medication renewal requests from NextGen® PxP Portal to providers, practice staff, or front desk personnel. You can configure the following routing rules for a group or user.

  • Communication routing rules - For routing secure messages received from patients asking a question.
  • Prescription routing rules - For routing prescription requests received from patients.
  • Appointment request routing rules - For routing appointment requests received from patients.

You can use the search option to view and edit the routing rules configured for a location and provider.
