While creating your message in Patient Messaging, you can form a basic structure of the message by selecting the delivery mode, practice location, message type, template, and subject of the message.
- Log on to Practice Portal.
- Select Patient Messaging.
The
Patient Messaging page opens displaying the
Search Patient Messages section.
- In the left pane, select Build a Message.

CAUTION:
If you select
Secure Comm or Email, you must ensure that your message does not include any personal health information.

Secure Comm or Email messages to the patient by email, and not directly to the patient's
NextGen® PxP Portal account. To ensure that personal health information is not exposed, you can use
Secure Communication, which requires the patient to securely log on to
NextGen® PxP Portal to view the message.
- Select the preferred practice location.
- Select the message category.
- Select the message template.
If there are no templates, select New Template.
If you select an existing template, the

HTML Template Body, and
Phone Template Body sections appear displaying the text of the selected template.
- Enter the subject of the message.
- Select Next.
If you selected
New Template in Step
7, the
Add New Template Fields section appears.
Otherwise, the Choose Recipients section appears.
