Treatment Section

The treatment grid shows therapies and education that you have documented for the patient. You can document therapies completed with the patient using any of the treatment templates in the left-hand list. The therapies documented on the templates are billable, with the exception of the Education template, which always shows a billable Total Time entry of zero. Modalities

You can document all the modalities completed with the patient on the Modalities or Additional Modalities template. You can document following modalities on the Modalities template. Hot/Cold Therapy (97010) Ultrasound (97035) Iontophoresis (97033) Fluidotherapy (97022) Vasopneumatic Device (97016) Electrical Stimulation (97014) Modalities template If you perform a modality at the same time as another treatment that you are billing for, select the corresponding Concurrent with exercise checkbox to suppress the billing. The selected modality appears on the Fee Sheet as Concurrent and Not Billed. You must enter the time for all the documented modalities in the corresponding Total Min or Min fields. If an assistant performed the therapy, then you can enter their time in the Asst Time fields. The time entered for all the modalities is combined and displayed in the Total time field. You can select the Attended checkbox in the Electrical Stimulation section to indicate that the therapist was

Notes

Documenting Exams

The Exams section on the Single Visit template has a grid that shows all exams recorded for the patient, and a list of exams that you can use to document exams performed in the current encounter. You can fill out as many different exams as needed for the patient on a single encounter. All data entered on any exam is displayed in the grid. Document Patient Education for Physical or Occupational Therapy

Open a patient record, and then in Encounter History, expand a case and select an encounter. Open the NTS Homepage template associated with the encounter, and then select a PT or OT visit type. Open the NTS Single Visit template, and then expand the Objective panel. Under Treatment, select Education. The Education template opens in the NTS PT Treatment Edu window. For patient education, enter a description under Education of the education provided by doing one of the following: Select Body Mechanics, Gait, or ADL as the education type, and then select a description in each field. Note: If you select the blank space at the top of the list, you can type an entry into the field. To enter custom descriptions that is not related to an education type, make sure that none of the Body Mechanics, Gait, or ADL options are selected, and then enter your descriptions in the fields. Document Remote Therapeutic Monitoring

Document the details about remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) so that you can bill for it. On the Single Visit or Speech Single Visit template, expand the Objective panel. Under Treatment, select RTM Codes. The NTS RTM Codes template opens. RTM Codes template Select the appropriate options under RTM Codes, enter the minutes, and then document the RTM details in the Comments field.
