Integrating NextGen® Mobile Comments into NextGen Therapy Suite

If you use NextGen® Mobile to dictate your therapy session, the details from the NGMobileDictation template are automatically added to the subjective, objective, assessment, and plan (SOAP) comment fields in the relevant Single Visit template. Comments

Most panels of the Single Visit templates have a Comments field. Use the Comments fields to record things such as observations, interpretations, additional information, instructions and plans that do not have discrete data fields in that section. Comments fields typically have a 1000-character limit, and a character counter below the field. You can improve your documentation efficiency by copying comments from previous therapy sessions into the current encounter. Your practice must be configured to allow copying previous comments. Configure the Ability to Copy Comments Forward

For specified visit sets, you can allow therapists to copy forward SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) comments, including comments captured from NextGen® Mobile, to the current encounter. Users can copy comments into the Single Visit templates and into the NTS Soap Comments template. Open the NTS Practice Config template, and then scroll to the Review Comments/NG Mobile section. Do one of the following: To create a configuration, select the field below the Visit Set column, and then select a visit set from the list. To modify a configuration, select a visit set in the grid. To allow users in the visit set to copy SOAP comments from past encounters to the current encounter, select Yes for Review Comments Copy Forward. The Get Data button becomes available on all Single Visit templates. Optional: If your practice uses NextGen® Mobile, select Yes for Mobile. This option adds the text "NG Mobile Dictation" to applicable labels on the Single Visit and NTS SOAP Comments templ

Add SOAP Comments to the Rapid Flowsheet

In the Rapid Flowsheet template, you can enter SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) comments for a patient's treatment by typing them and by using saved template entries (My Phrases text). You can also review comments from previous encounters and copy them to today’s visit. To save time, you can enter these comments in advance of an appointment with a Booked status. Open the NTS Rapid Flowsheet Worklog template, and then select an appointment row in the grid. The Rapid Flowsheet template opens. The patient’s name, sex, and birthdate appear in the panel headers. Expand the Additional Comments panel to view the SOAP comments fields. Manually enter the comments. To insert saved template entries at the end of any text already in the field, select My Phrases, select a phrase from the list, and then select OK. To append more phrases, select My Phrases again. Note: Although you cannot add or edit saved phrases in the list, you can edit them after you insert them in the comments

Add Therapy Goals Manually

You can manually add each goal. Note: Alternatively, you can quickly add standard goals by using QuickPicks. See QuickPicks. If you do not want to use picklists to enter goal details, you can turn them off in the Practice Config practice template in the Legacy Picklist Functionality setting of the Goals panel. Open the NTS Therapy Goals template. NTS Therapy Goals template Enter all the details that are required for saving the goal: In the Type field, select the type of goal. Enter the Goal and Function. Enter the total number of weeks the patient is expected to achieve the goal. If necessary, in Response to Treatment, document the patient’s treatment response for the goal. For example, you could enter the treatment response as the percentage of goal completion. In Status, you can select the status of the goal or leave the field blank. For example, you can capture the patient’s current status towards achieving the goal or the status when the patient was initially transferred mid-treatm

Review and Update Mobile Dictation Data

You can review and update the mobile dictation data documented and sent to NextGen® Enterprise EHR through NextGen® Ambient Assist or any dictation software, such as NextGen® Mobile, NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop, or other third-party solutions. On any appropriate template, select the NG Mobile link. The NOS NG Mobile template opens. Note: The NG Mobile link is blue until mobile dictation data is documented. After you enter information on the NOS NG Mobile template and return to the current template, the NG Mobile link turns purple. Review and update the dictation data.
