Review, Modify, and Copy Comments

You can review comments entered in all sections of the patient’s chart, including those captured during previous therapy encounters with the patient. Depending on your configuration, this also includes mobile dictation comments created in NextGen® Mobile. You can then improve your documentation efficiency by copying SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) comments from previous encounters, including sessions dictated with NextGen® Mobile, into the current encounter. You can copy previous comments from any template that allows you to edit the SOAP comments field. Open the NTS SOAP Comments template by doing any of the following: Open a Single Visit template, and then select the Get Data button at the top of the template. Open a Single Visit template, expand the appropriate panel, and then select the Review Comments link above the SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) comment field. Integrating NextGen® Mobile Comments into NextGen Therapy Suite

If you use NextGen® Mobile to dictate your therapy session, the details from the NGMobileDictation template are automatically added to the subjective, objective, assessment, and plan (SOAP) comment fields in the relevant Single Visit template. Navigation and Documentation Shortcuts

You can configure certain settings that reduce the number of steps and amount of typing you must do to complete a patient’s documentation. Some of the helpful tools are: Template links that open frequently used templates QuickPicks that save standard template entries Get Data to copy template entries from a previous encounter My Phrases that save frequently-used phrases Quick Add so you can quickly enter data into a series of fields Sub Navigation Links QuickPick Toolbar Quickpick toolbar overview Use Get Data Comments My Phrases You can save phrases in a list for your own use. Configure the Ability to Copy Comments Forward

For specified visit sets, you can allow therapists to copy forward SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) comments, including comments captured from NextGen® Mobile, to the current encounter. Users can copy comments into the Single Visit templates and into the NTS Soap Comments template. Open the NTS Practice Config template, and then scroll to the Review Comments/NG Mobile section. Do one of the following: To create a configuration, select the field below the Visit Set column, and then select a visit set from the list. To modify a configuration, select a visit set in the grid. To allow users in the visit set to copy SOAP comments from past encounters to the current encounter, select Yes for Review Comments Copy Forward. The Get Data button becomes available on all Single Visit templates. Optional: If your practice uses NextGen® Mobile, select Yes for Mobile. This option adds the text "NG Mobile Dictation" to applicable labels on the Single Visit and NTS SOAP Comments templ

Subjective Comments

Use the Comments (Subjective) field to record things such as observations, additional information, instructions, and plans that otherwise do not have discrete data fields. You can type text into the field or add saved phrases from a “My Phrases” set. For more information, see Add Comments. The Review Comments link above the field opens a window where you can review comments entered in all sections of the patient’s chart. You can also review and copy comments that were captured on previous encounters with that patient. For more information, see Review, Modify, and Copy Comments. Add SOAP Comments to the Rapid Flowsheet

In the Rapid Flowsheet template, you can enter SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) comments for a patient's treatment by typing them and by using saved template entries (My Phrases text). You can also review comments from previous encounters and copy them to today’s visit. To save time, you can enter these comments in advance of an appointment with a Booked status. Open the NTS Rapid Flowsheet Worklog template, and then select an appointment row in the grid. The Rapid Flowsheet template opens. The patient’s name, sex, and birthdate appear in the panel headers. Expand the Additional Comments panel to view the SOAP comments fields. Manually enter the comments. To insert saved template entries at the end of any text already in the field, select My Phrases, select a phrase from the list, and then select OK. To append more phrases, select My Phrases again. Note: Although you cannot add or edit saved phrases in the list, you can edit them after you insert them in the comments
