Hearing Device Repair

Hearing devices that need repair can be captured under the Hearing Aid Device Repair panel. Select the type of device to be repaired from the Device field. Then capture the Make, Model, Current Serial Number, and Action Taken. If the device was fixed in office and returned to the patient the same day, select the HA Device(s) Returned to Patient checkbox. Parent topic: Procedures or Results

Procedures or Results

The Procedures/Results section grid displays any procedures and results that have been documented for the patient on procedure templates. Procedures/Results grid To document procedures and results, select a template in the left navigation to open it. Note: You can configure the left side navigation to show only templates that are used by your practice or the provider and display them in the order most useful to you. All Procedures/Results templates also have functionality for Use Get Data and QuickPicks and you can fill out as many different templates as needed for that patient. Audiology Hearing Aid Repair/Delivery

When you select the AUD HA Delivery visit type, navigation changes to allow for only the Repair Delivery template to be opened. Repair Delivery template On the Repair Delivery template, the Select items to be delivered grid shows any items documented previously on the HD Fitting/Repair template. Highlight the item you want to deliver today. Indicate the Person picking up item(s). Select the appropriate charge for the delivery. This section can be configured in the Billing Config system template. If the charge is manually entered, select the Task Billing button so a task can be sent and the charge be manually entered into NextGen® Enterprise PM. Repair Delivery template Use the Comments field to capture any additional comments. Select the Sign Off checkbox. Select the Repair Pickup Document icon to generate the document. Document a DME Supply Item

Select the Types field, and then select the supply category. DME Item Types picklist The grid displays all items of that type and their supply CPT codes. Note: All Types and supply CPT codes tied to Types are configured in the Billing Configuration template. Select the supply item from the grid. The item description, code, and price appear in a row of fields to the right of the grid. Item details added to secondary grid Indicate a Qty. This is required. Select the R, L, or B option for right side, left side, or both. This drives RT, LT, or both modifiers that attach to the CPT code. Document Orthosis and DME Management

Use the Orthosis/DME template to dispense and bill durable medical equipment (DME), document orthosis and orthotic planning, and track billable time for the fitting of and training on orthotics, prosthetics, and braces, and for cast application. Note: All DME items that can be listed in the orthosis grid are set up in the Billing Configuration system template. Select the Types field. The DME Item Types picklist opens and displays a list of DME types. DME Item Types picklist Select the kind of DME items you want to view. Items related to the selected DME type appear in the grid. Select an item from the grid. The details relevant to selected item appear in the corresponding fields to the right of the grid. Indicate a Quantity and if the item is specific to R, L, or B. If one of the options is selected, you will see RT/LT modifiers attached to the CPT code on the Fee Sheet. DME Supplies Panel

Use the DME Supplies grid to configure items that appear in grids on the treatment Orthosis/DME template and on AUD HD Fitting/Repair template. Those grids show durable medical equipment that can be dispensed to the patient. Initially, the DME Supplies grid is blank until items are added to the SIM library during implementation. Then, the grid pulls directly from the values built in the SIM library – including the name of the supply. Each code in the SIM library can be entered only once. Therefore, an item cannot exist under multiple types. DME Supplies panel with items from SIM library After an item with a new DME type name is entered into the grid, the type name appears in the DME Types picklist.
