Join Cases When a Patient’s Insurer Changes

Before you begin You need to know the original case number before you can join it to a new case. When a patient’s insurer changes during an episode of care (due to either a change of insurer or the addition of another insurer), you must create a new case that has the new insurer attached. Then, you can transfer data from the original case to the new one by joining the cases. After the data is transferred, the therapist can continue to treat the patient without re-entering the patient’s data. Note: The only time you can join cases is the first time you open the NTS Homepage for the first encounter in the new case. Create a case and attach the new insurer. Create the first encounter in the new case, and then open the NTS Homepage for the first time. Select Join Case. The Combine Cases window opens. In the Existing Case section, select NBR to display the list of open cases for the patient. Select the original case number from the list, and then select OK. The original case Description and

Require Summary of Care for Discharge Visits

You can require users to add a summary of care for discharge visits by selecting the applicable visit sets. In the Single Visit section of the NTS Practice Config template, locate the Summary of Care for Discharge Visits setting. Summary of Care for Discharge Visits Select the field below the Visit Set grid. The Visit Set picklist appears. The list displays items that have DC set to Yes in the Visit Type Setup panel of the NTS Billing Config template. In the picklist, select a visit set. Configure Plan of Care Generation for Documentation Only and Eval DC Encounters

To allow automatic generation of plan of care for encounters with documentation only and "Eval/DC" visit types, you must add that visit type in the Visit Type grid in the Scripts section on the NTS Practice Config practice template. . Add Diagnosis from Today's Visit

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must add or select an unlocked encounter. Select Diagnosis (Dx).The Diagnosis view opens displaying the previously added diagnosis codes of the patient in the Previous section. Note: If you generate a NextGen® Ambient Assist note, the Diagnosis view opens displaying the suggested diagnosis codes based on the ambient generated note in the Suggested section. Fix Patient Safety Issues with Chiropractic Foot Supination Selection

On the DC Cervical Exam and DC Thoracic Exam templates, the Right and Left values for Foot Supination were interchanged, but they were not switched on the DC Lumbar Exam. The Chiropractic Foot Supination radio button report lists the patient encounters where the Foot Supination option was selected on the DC Cervical Exam or DC Thoracic Exam, and the DC Lumbar Exam template was also accessed. For each encounter in the report, review whether the selections are switched and correct them as necessary. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. Select the Practice tab, and then, in the Show section, select All. Locate and double-click NTS Patient Safety Report. The NTS Patient Safety Report template opens. If this is your first time opening the template, the template does not display any records. Select Report Name. Select an Existing NDC for a Charge

To select an existing NDC ID for a charge, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Charges. The Charge Posting window opens. Select the desired patient and encounter. Do one of the following using a SIM code that requires NDC information. Enter a new charge, and then select Save. Select an existing charge, and then select the NDC Charges icon on the Charge Posting toolbar. The NDC Data for this Charge window opens. Select the Open Record button. The NDC Lookup window opens displaying the list of all existing NDC records for the CPT code. To search for a specific NDC Id, select the following in the Search In section. The NDC option to search by the NDC ID. The Description option to search by the NDC Description. Select the Type the first number(s) of the NDCs you want to locate field, and then enter the desired search criteria.
