Ancillary Services

The Ancillary Services visit type selected on Homepage opens the Ancillary Services template. This visit type does not increase the patient’s SOC on Homepage. Ancillary Services visit type selected on NTS Homepage With the Ancillary Services template, you can see patients for concussion testing and H-wave testing and document findings for baseline readings prior to injury or post injury. It also includes a Concussion Document. You must select Start Time before you can document any information. Select the Patient seen for text field to open a picklist of ancillary services. Document a Canceled Visit

Select the Cancel link in the sub-navigation to open the Cancel template. To select a reason the patient did not keep the appointment (For example, “Forgot” or “Insurance issue”), select the Reason for Cancellation field. Enter any comments in the Comments field. Use the checkbox(es) under Charges to designate a charge code to be sent to NextGen® Enterprise PM for the missed appointment. Select the Sign Off checkbox to enter your name with a date and timestamp. Note: If your practice has configured the Cancel document to generate locally, the document is generated upon sign-off. Cancel an Appointment

You can only cancel appointments created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, not those created in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can view the canceled appointments. Select an appointment. Select Cancel Appointment in the toolbar. An Appointments cancelation confirmation window opens. To cancel the appointment, select Yes. The appointment is cancelled and removed from the appointments list. To view canceled appointments, select Appointments > Show Cancelled Appointments menu. Canceled appointments appear with a strikethrough line. Note: Appointments canceled for the current date are displayed, whether the Show Cancelled Appointments options is not selected. Appointment Tracking & Evaluation Types Panel

In the Appointment Tracking & Evaluation Types panel, you can do the following: Configure which appointment cancellation reasons to track and display on the NTS Homepage template. Canceled and No-show Appointments

The counts in the Canceled Appts and Appt. no shows fields pull directly from NextGen® Enterprise PM. The count in Appt. no shows excludes today’s appointment and reflects all appointments that were not marked as "Kept". Note: See Cancel App Tracking Reasons on the System Config system template to configure which reasons for canceled appointments affect the “Canceled appointments count” on the NTS Homepage. No Charge

Use the No Charge checkbox when you have checked in a scheduled appointment in the NextGen® Enterprise PM, and the patient does not actually complete treatment that day (for example: patient leaves during treatment due to illness or family emergency). This sends a No Charge code to NextGen® Enterprise PM and the encounter does not increase the overall SOC or deduct allowable visits from scripts or authorizations. Parent topic: Fee Sheet
