Remove an Appointment

You can only remove appointments created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, not those created in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Note: Removing an appointment is not the same as canceling it. Removing an appointment permanently deletes it. Select an appointment. Select Remove in the toolbar. A confirmation message Appointments appears for removal of appointments. Select Yes. Create an Appointment

NextGen recommends to create and manage appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM, not in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, if you use NextGen® Enterprise PM as your scheduling source. Appointments created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR are not communicated to NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR only if you have the View by Provider display setting enabled. If you select View by Resource, you cannot create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You may also create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR if you use a third-party scheduling application instead of NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can create an appointment in the Appointments tab of the Workflow module. You can create a custom status for the appointment. Select a patient. Note: You must select a patient to create an appointment in the Appointments tab. Access the Appointments tab. Select New in the toolbar. View Appointments for Multiple Resources

You can view appointments for multiple resources at once. Access the Appointments tab. Select the Resources list arrow available at the upper right corner. Select the check box for each resource to view the appointment schedule. The Appointments button displays the count of the appointments, and the appointments list displays the appointments for the selected resources. Cancel Group Appointments

When you cancel a group appointment, all associated individual member appointments are also automatically cancelled. A group appointment in a recurring series has a combination of linked and unlinked group appointments. You can determine the group appointment that needs to canceled. You can also cancel a group appointment shell which can be a part of recurring series or a non-recurring one. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, open the appointment book. From the Daily, Weekly List, Weekly Schedule, or Multi-View view, right-click an individual appointment that is scheduled as part of a group appointment, and then select Open > Group Appointment. The Edit Group Appointment window opens. Cancel App Tracking Reasons

When scheduling staff cancels a patient’s appointment in NextGen® Enterprise PM, a window opens so they can enter a reason for the cancellation. The reasons for cancellation are set up in File Maintenance. In the Cancel App Tracking Reasons grid, you can select which cancellation reasons should or should not be tracked and displayed on Homepage. Cancel App Tracking Reasons grids on the Appointment Tracking & Evaluation Types Panel The left grid shows all tracked cancel reasons that are built in your File Maintenance application. All reasons in the left grid count as a 'Cancel' and are shown on Homepage by default. To set any of the reasons NOT to not be tracked in the cancel count, select the reason, and then select the right arrow to move it to the Not Tracked Cancel Reason grid. Appointment Book

The Appointment Book window in NextGen® Enterprise PM provides an overview of the appointment schedule for the various resources and locations within the practice. The appointment book is used to schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments. You can view appointments for: An individual resource for a specific day, week, or month. Multiple resources at the same time for a specific day. To access Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM, do one of the following: From the main toolbar, select the ApptBook button.
