Note:
Removing an appointment is not the same as canceling it. Removing an appointment permanently deletes it.

Cancel an Appointment
You can only cancel appointments created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, not those created in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can view the canceled appointments. Select an appointment. Select Cancel Appointment in the toolbar. An Appointments cancelation confirmation window opens. To cancel the appointment, select Yes. The appointment is cancelled and removed from the appointments list. To view canceled appointments, select Appointments > Show Cancelled Appointments menu. Canceled appointments appear with a strikethrough line. Note: Appointments canceled for the current date are displayed, whether the Show Cancelled Appointments options is not selected. Update an Appointment
You may update all information for appointments created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: Only the appointment status and room number may be modified in the Workflow module if an appointment was created in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select an appointment. Select Update in the toolbar. Edit the required fields. Select Commit Changes in the toolbar. The changes are saved, and the appointment is updated. Parent topic: Appointments

View Appointments for Multiple Resources
You can view appointments for multiple resources at once. Access the Appointments tab. Select the Resources list arrow available at the upper right corner. Select the check box for each resource to view the appointment schedule. The Appointments button displays the count of the appointments, and the appointments list displays the appointments for the selected resources. Create an Appointment
NextGen recommends to create and manage appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM, not in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, if you use NextGen® Enterprise PM as your scheduling source. Appointments created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR are not communicated to NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR only if you have the View by Provider display setting enabled. If you select View by Resource, you cannot create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You may also create an appointment in NextGen® Enterprise EHR if you use a third-party scheduling application instead of NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can create an appointment in the Appointments tab of the Workflow module. You can create a custom status for the appointment. Select a patient. Update a Followup with Appointment Date and Time
After an appointment is scheduled in NextGen® Enterprise PM for a follow-up that originated in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Appt Date and Appt Time on the follow-up can be updated in both applications. Access the Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open the appointment that was scheduled for the follow-up. The Edit Appointment window opens. Select the Recall/Waitlist tab. In the Follow Ups section, select the follow-up that corresponds to the appointment. Right-click on the follow-up and select Update KBM with PM Appt Date. The followup is updated with the appointment date and time in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: The appointment must be saved in NextGen® Enterprise PM before the Update KBM with PM Appt Date option is available for selection. A confirmation prompt does not display after selecting the Update KBM with PM Appt Date option. The follow-up is updated immediately in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Hide an Event
If you hide an event, the event is no longer available for selection in NextGen® Enterprise PM. For example, a specific procedure is no longer performed in the practice, and therefore appointments should no longer be scheduled for that event. If an event is hidden, all existing appointments for the event are retained. Therefore, they remain in a patient’s appointment history and are still available for appointment reports in NextGen® Enterprise PM. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Scheduling Admin. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The Scheduling Administration window opens. Select the Events tab. Select the event to be hidden. Right-click and select Hide. A message appears asking you to confirm if you want to hide the event. Select Yes to hide the event.
