On the
NextGen® Enterprise PM
main toolbar, select the
Mailbox
button.
From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select
Patient Portal
.
Important:
The
Patient Portal
option does not appear in the list if your
NextGen® PxP Portal
license is not available or has expired.
A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. A list of messages appears in the right pane.
Select
the
New Message
button.
.
The
Patient Portal Message
window opens.
Select the arrow on the
To
button, and then select
Add User(s)
.
The
Select users and groups
window opens.
Enter the name of the user or group, and then select
Search
.
From the search results, select the applicable recipients, and then select
OK
.
Complete your message as required.

Add Patients as Recipients
You can only message patients with the Completed or Completed with Guardian enrollment status. Note: When the patient's demographic information is updated, the My Information page in the portal is automatically updated. From the My Information page, patients can update their demographic information and set up their preferred method to receive notifications. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal. Set the Original Patient As the Recipient in Replies
When replying to a forwarded message, if the message originated from a patient, you can easily set that patient as the recipient. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal. Important: The Patient Portal option does not appear in the list if your NextGen® PxP Portal license is not available or has expired. A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. A list of messages appears in the right pane. Select the New Message button.. The Patient Portal Message window opens. Select the arrow on the To button, and then select Add Original Patient. Add Recipients from a Report Filter
Bulk messages can be sent to care managers and patients with the completed or pending enrollment status. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal. Important: The Patient Portal option does not appear in the list if your NextGen® PxP Portal license is not available or has expired. A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. Adding a Recipient
When you compose, reply to, or forward a NextGen® PxP Portal message, you can: Add patients as recipients. Add the original patient when replying to a forwarded message. Add practice users and/or groups as recipients. Add patients as recipients using the results generated from a memorized report. Add patients as recipients using the results from the Report/Report Server filter. Add Patients as Recipients You have choices of how to select a patient name when composing or replying to a NextGen® PxP Portal message. Set the Original Patient As the Recipient in Replies You must select a recipient on a forwarded message that originally came from a patient. From the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select Compose. The Patient Portal Message window opens. Select the arrow on the To button, and then select Add User(s).The Select users and groups window opens. Enter the name of the user or group, and then select Search.
