Manage Messages from Excluded Patients

Messages or requests from the excluded patients appear as restricted. You can forward the restricted messages to the users who have permissions to view the messages of such patients. For more information about including and excluding patients at the user level, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest version of System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise.
  1. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button.
  2. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal.
    A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. A list of messages appears in the right pane.
  3. Select the restricted message.
    A message explains that you do not have access.
  4. Select OK.
    The Forward Item window opens.
  5. Select the required user or user group.

    If you cannot find a user or group, enter a search string in the field provided, and then select Search.

  6. In Message, enter your note for the user.
    Your message also appears in the History section, prefaced with your username, and the current date and time.
  7. Select Send.
You can access the forwarded item from the Outbox folder.
