Delegates for Out of Office User

If the NextGen® PxP Portal option is selected for a delegate of an out of office user, the delegate can perform the following on behalf of the out-of-office user: View and manage messages of the out-of-office user. If you are a delegate for an out-of-office user who is part of a routing policy, you can log on as the delegate and accept, release, and reassign messages from the inbox of the out-of-office user. When you accept a message as a delegate, you become the owner of the message, and not the out-of-office user. Assigning NextGen® PxP Portal Workflow Tasks to Delegates

When you add delegates for out-of-office users and providers, you can also assign them NextGen® PxP Portal workflow tasks. The delegates can then sign off and complete the NextGen® PxP Portal workflow tasks on behalf of the out-of-office user or provider. In the Work Flow Manager: Administrator window, when you add a delegate in the Work Flow tab, the system selects the check box for the NextGen® PxP Portal column by default. If you do not want to assign NextGen® PxP Portal workflow tasks, you can clear the check box. Note: The Patient Portal tab does not appear if the NextGen® PxP Portal license has expired. Managing Patient Communications from NextGen® PxP Portal

You can manage the messages exchanged between you and the patients or practice users. You can view all communication sent and received through the NextGen® PxP Portal in a single view for the selected patient, by turning on Patient-Specific View. The count of unread or unsent messages in the Communications, Prescriptions, and Appointments folders refreshes every time you switch between the full view and patient-specific view. You can use the Display list to filter and review specific timeline messages. By default, the last three months messages are displayed.
