Update Radiology Orders in the Radiology Order Worklog

You can update the details of radiology orders to be performed and billed in your practice or at an external facility in the future. To open the Rad Order Worklog system template, do one of the following: Select File > System \ Practice Template, and then select Rad Order Worklog from the Select Template window. From the Home or any other applicable template, select the Forms link, and then select Rad Order Worklog. Note: The Rad Order Worklog template opens with the details of the Internal Later and External orders. Only the radiology orders with the Ordered and Scheduled statuses appear in the grid, and they are removed from the grid when the status is updated to one of the following: Completed for External orders Performed for Internal Later orders Cancelled for Internal Later and External orders Select an option for Performed. Optional: Filter the orders in the grid. Note: You can configure default values for Performed, Category, and Performing Location based on users in the Radiol

Order Radiology Tests in the Radiology Order Template

You can order radiology tests performed and billed in your practice or on at an external facility. On the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Radiology Order. The Radiology Order template opens. Select one of the following options for Performed: Internal Today for radiology tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. Internal Later for radiology tests performed and billed in your practice on a future encounter. External for radiology tests performed and billed at an external facility. Do one of the following: To place radiology orders with diagnoses, select Dx & Px, and then add the necessary diagnoses. Note: You must add at least one diagnosis to order external radiology tests. You can use the Radiology Picklists panel in the Radiology Configuration template to make diagnosis-code selection mandatory for placing internal radiology test orders, depending on the category. Update Radiology and Lab Orders in the Orders Worklog

You can update the details of radiology and lab orders placed from any location of your practice. To open the Orders Worklog system template, do one of the following: Select File > System \ Practice Template, and then select Orders Worklog from the Select Template window. From the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders > Single Order to open the Single Order template, and then select the Orders Worklog link. Optional: Filter the orders in the grid by location and other options. Note: All categories of orders placed from the selected location appear in the Orders Worklog template, except those with the Completed, Performed, and Cancelled statuses. To update a radiology or lab order, select the order from the grid, and then select Edit. Note: The Edit button becomes available only if you select a radiology or lab order. Update Submitted Radiology Orders

You can update the details of submitted radiology orders performed and billed in your practice. Before you begin Make sure the administrative override is configured in the Admin Override panel of the IORTS Practice Configuration template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download latest Configuration Guide forNextGen®Orthopedic Suite. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Select Admin Override. A message appears to confirm the administrative override of the encounter. Select Yes. The Comments, Findings, and Impressions fields become available for editing. Mark External Radiology Orders as Completed in the Radiology Order Management Template

After a radiology test is performed at an external facility, you can update the details of the test and mark the order as completed. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. If your practice uses a picture archiving and communication system (PACS), select PACS to open medical images and reports. Note: You can configure the PACS button in the General panel of the Radiology Configuration template. Select a Lab or Radiology Order to Update from the Orders Summary Grid

In the Orders Summary grid, double-click the row for the order to update. If you select a lab order, the Update Lab Order for Patient Name window opens. If you select a radiology order, the Update Radiology Order for Patient Name window opens. Add to or change the order following the instructions in Selecting Tests and Entering Test Details.
