Submit Today's Charges

Once all items in the coding grid have been coded as desired, the provider must submit charges and sign off on the template (if not using PAQ signoff) to finalize the visit and generate the office note. On the Finalize Visit template, click Submit to send charges to NextGen® Enterprise PM for billing. Note: Radiology orders that have an Interpreted status are updated to Submitted. The system will alert you if there are radiology tests that do not have an Interpreted status. Check the Provider Signoff check box to sign off on the visit, unless you are using the PAQ. Manage the Pre-Operative Visit to Submit Charges

You can add or remove the pre-operative visit to submit charges and finalize a visit. On the appropriate template, click Finalize Visit in the workflow tab. The Finalize Visit template opens. To add Pre-Op to the coding grid of the Finalize Visit template, do the following: Select Pre-Op from the Non-Billable & Initial Fracture Care grid. The IORTSfinalize Po window opens. Indicating the Treatment as an Incident to a Previous Encounter

The Finalize Visit template contains a checkbox to help you indicate if today’s patient care is an incident to a plan or a diagnosis made on a previous patient encounter. You can select the Incident To check box to open the IORTS Incident to Plan template, which shows a filtered list of previous encounters. You can select an encounter to indicate that it is an incident to the today's treatment. Manage the Post-Operative Global Visit to Submit Charges

You can add or remove the post-operative global visit to submit charges and finalize a visit. For a post-operative visit, the evaluation and management (E&M) code is not displayed in the field next to the E&M Key button on the Finalize Visit template. Submit to Supervisor Settings Grid

The NextGen® Orthopedic Suite looks first to the Provider master file in the File Maintenance to determine if a provider requires supervisor signoff. The Supervisor Required setting in File Maintenance assumes signoff is required on 100% of encounters. You can use the Submit to Supervisor Settings grid to override the requirement for 100% supervisor signoff for providers who only require supervisor signoff for certain encounters. Submit to Supervisor Settings grid in the Finalize Visit Settings panel Adding a provider’s name to this grid displays the Send to Supervising Physician button on the Finalize Visit template for encounters with that provider. The button gives the provider the option to submit the encounter to the supervisor for signoff. Send the Encounter to the Supervising Provider

You can submit the encounter to a supervising provider for review. If the following conditions are met, the Add New Task window opens after you click Submit to Supervising Physician. PAQ is disabled for the location on the Miscellaneous Configuration template. The automatic tasking is not configured for the supervisor signoff on the Tasking Configuration template. Note: For encounters that need supervisor sign off, you must click the Submit to Supervising Physician before clicking Submit.
