Sign off as the Supervising Provider

When PAQ is enabled for the practice location on the Miscellaneous Configuration template, documents sent for signoff go to the supervising provider’s PAQ. The supervising provider can launch the patient’s chart from the Task to review the visit. When PAQ is disabled for the practice location on the Miscellaneous Configuration template, a task is sent to the supervising provider to review the templates for signoff. Submit to Supervisor Workflow

The Submit to Supervisor workflow is as follows: The NextGen® Orthopedic Suite looks to the Supervisor Required check box in the provider master file in File Maintenance to determine if the rendering supervisor requires supervisor signoff. Modify Provider Information window NextGen® Orthopedic Suite assumes 100% of the encounters for that provider require supervisor signoff unless their name is added to the Submit to Supervising Settings grid in the Finalize Visit Settings panel of the Practice Configuration template: Finalize Visit Settings panel on the Practice Configuration template If the provider’s name is in the Submit to Supervisor Settings grid, the provider can select which encounters are sent for signoff by using the Send to Supervising Physician button on the Finalize Visit template. Finalizing a Patient Visit

You can enter a patient's visit details and today's diagnoses, and apply diagnosis codes to procedures to submit charges and finalize the visit. You can use the Finalize Visit template to do the following: Perform dictation Document the visit type and time Add or remove today's diagnoses Document carbon copies information Apply appropriate diagnosis codes to the procedures Submit charges Send the current encounter to the supervising provider Sign off as the supervising provider Generate letters and reports Lock the current encounter Finalize Visit template You can configure the following for the Finalize Visit template. Submit to Supervisor Settings Grid

The NextGen® Orthopedic Suite looks first to the Provider master file in the File Maintenance to determine if a provider requires supervisor signoff. The Supervisor Required setting in File Maintenance assumes signoff is required on 100% of encounters. You can use the Submit to Supervisor Settings grid to override the requirement for 100% supervisor signoff for providers who only require supervisor signoff for certain encounters. Submit to Supervisor Settings grid in the Finalize Visit Settings panel Adding a provider’s name to this grid displays the Send to Supervising Physician button on the Finalize Visit template for encounters with that provider. The button gives the provider the option to submit the encounter to the supervisor for signoff. Respond to PAQ Action Tasks

A PAQ Action task is listed in the Clinical Tasking tab only if it is signed off in the Provider Approval Queue tab using the Task 1 or Task 2 action item. For the selected PAQ Action task, you can: Perform the PAQ actions. View the activity log in the Communication Summary window. Add a comment. Access the Workflow Module. NextGen® Orthopedic Suite Home

You can use the Home template to access all the modules of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite and view the summary of the medical and surgical history, medications, allergies, injections, and diagnostic tests for a patient. The recommended workflow is to begin a patient encounter on the Home template. From the Home template, you can use the workflow tabs and the links to access various templates of the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. You can initiate a Scribe Encounter only on the Home template. You can also configure the Home template to exclude the radiology tests with the Cancelled or Error status in the All Internal Radiology Orders grid.
