Respond to PAQ Action Tasks
A PAQ Action task is listed in the Clinical Tasking tab only if it is signed off in the Provider Approval Queue tab using the Task 1 or Task 2 action item. For the selected PAQ Action task, you can:
- Perform the PAQ actions.
- View the activity log in the Communication Summary window.
- Add a comment.
- Access the Workflow Module.
- In the Clinical Tasking tab, select a PAQ Action task assigned to you.
- Select Actions.
The PAQ Item Actions window opens.
- Select the check box for each PAQ action to perform.
If the patient is not enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, the Send to Patient Portal option is disabled.
- If you select the Task 1 or Task 2 action, enter the following information in the fields that appear:
- Select an option from the Priority list.
- Select the (no Recipients): Click to add text to display the Select Task Recipients window, and then select the recipients.
- Enter a brief Description.
- If you select the Launch Document action, do the following the fields that appear:
- Select a document name from the Document Name list.
- Select an option from the Encounter list.
- If you select the Launch Image, do the following in the fields that appear:
- Select an image name from the Image Name list.
- Select an option from the Encounter list.
- If you select the Launch Template, do the following in the fields that appear:
- Select a template name from the Template Name list.
- Select an option from the Encounter list.
- To enter comments:
- Select Add/ View.
The Add Comments window opens.
- Enter a comment.
- Select Save.
The comment is added to the Activity Log with a date, user, and time stamp.Note: Comments entered in the Inbox for PAQ items for Orders module test results also display in the Communication Component as a separate call type. You can generate a Sign Off Comments document on an unlocked or locked encounter. For more information, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Communication Component User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR.Other PAQ items that require signoff, such as NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine documents and NextGen® Document Management images, also store the comments from the PAQ. You can view these comments from the Encounter History tab in the Provider Sign-Off Details.
You can print sign-off comments using the Custom Print\Send feature.
- Select Add/ View.
- Select one of the following:
- Save: Saves the action.
- Save & Run: Saves the actions for future use and then performs the actions.
- Run: Performs the selected actions but does not save them.
- Cancel: Clears all your selections and returns to the Pending task section.
