Radiology Order Statuses

Status	Description
Ordered	Indicates that the radiology test is ordered but not performed. When you place an order in the Single Order or Radiology Order template, the order is created with the Ordered status. For Internal Today orders, the charges are sent to the Finalize Visit template when the order is placed.
Scheduled	Indicates that the radiology test is scheduled. Note: This status is not applicable to Internal Today orders.
Performed	Indicates that the radiology test is performed. For Internal Later orders, the charges are sent to the Finalize Visit template when the status is updated to Performed. Note: This status is not applicable to External orders.
Interpreted	Indicates that the radiology films are reviewed, and the impressions and findings are documented. Note: This status is not applicable to External orders.
Completed	Indicates that the radiology order is completed. Note: This status is applicable only to External orders.
Cancelled	Indicates that the radiology order is canceled. You can cancel an order only if it is in the Ordered status and created by mistake.
Submitted	Indicates that the charges are submitted for the radiology order. When the charges for an Internal Today or Internal Later order is submitted on the Finalize Visit template, the status of the order is automatically updated to Submitted. Note: This status is not applicable to External orders.
Error	Indicates that the radiology test is performed by mistake and films are taken. You can mark an order as performed in error only if the order status is Performed or Interpreted. If you mark an order as performed in error, the code for the radiology test is automatically updated to NOCHRG. Note: This status is not applicable to External orders.

Mark Radiology Tests as Performed in Error

If a radiology test is mistakenly performed at your practice, you can mark the test as performed in error. Before you begin Ensure the following: The iorts_order_rad_mgt_1 call name is configured and turned on in the Tasks panel of the Tasking Configuration template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download latest Configuration Guide forNextGen®Orthopedic Suite. The status of the radiology order is Performed or Interpreted. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Select the Error checkbox. The Error Notes field appears. Enter the reason for marking the test as performed in error. Select Update. The status of the order is updated to error. The test code is updated to NOCHRG in the Radiology Order Management

Mark Internal Radiology Orders as Performed and Interpreted

After you place internal radiology orders and perform a test, you can update the test details and mark the test is performed and interpreted. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Optional: Select a modifier. If your practice uses a picture archiving and communication system (PACS), select PACS to open medical images and reports. Note: You can configure the PACS button and the automatic selection of the Interpreted checkbox in the General panel of the Radiology Configuration template. Cancel Orders in the Radiology Order Management Template

You can cancel ordered or scheduled radiology tests that do not need to be performed. If a radiology test is mistakenly performed, you can mark it as performed in error. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Select the Cancelled checkbox.A message appears to confirm the cancellation. Select Yes. Select Update, and then select Close.The order is updated as Cancelled. Mark Radiology Orders as Scheduled in the Radiology Order Management Template

After you place a radiology order to be performed in your practice or at an external facility in the future, you can add the authorization number and schedule the test. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Do one of the following: To obtain the authorization number from NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Get, and then select the authorization number. To manually enter the authorization number, enter the number in Authorization Number. Note: Authorization numbers manually entered do not appear in NextGen® Enterprise PM. To obtain authorization from another user, select the task icon, and then assign a task. Optional: To clear an incorrect authorization number, select the erase icon. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Open the Radiology Orders Management Template

You can open the Radiology Order Management template to update order details and change the status for all types of radiology orders. Open the Home template. To open the Radiology Order Management template from the Single Order template, do the following: Select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Select a radiology order from the Today's Orders grid, and then select Edit. To open the Radiology Order Management template from the Radiology Order template, do the following: Select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Radiology Order.
