Mark Internal Radiology Orders as Performed and Interpreted
After you place internal radiology orders and perform a test, you can update the test details and mark the test is performed and interpreted.
- Open the Radiology Order Management template.
The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order.
- Optional: Select a modifier.
- If your practice uses a picture archiving and communication system (PACS), select PACS to open medical images and reports.
Note: You can configure the PACS button and the automatic selection of the Interpreted checkbox in the General panel of the Radiology Configuration template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Configuration Guide forNextGen®Orthopedic Suite.
- Update other necessary details, and then enter your comments.
Note: The comments entered in the Comments field are sent to the Order module.
- To update the order status to Performed and Interpreted, do one of the following:
- If radiology orders are configured to automatically update to Interpreted when the order is updated as Performed, select Performed.
Note: A message is added to the Findings and Impressions fields prompting you to view the dictation data.
- If radiology orders are configured to automatically update to Interpreted when findings and impressions are entered, select Performed, and then enter your findings and impressions.
- If radiology orders are not configured to automatically update to Interpreted, select Performed, enter your findings and impressions, and then select Interpreted.
Note: You can also associate the dictated results for findings and impressions by using the Diagnostic Interpretation section of the NOS NG Mobile template. The documented findings and impressions are not sent to the Order module. - If radiology orders are configured to automatically update to Interpreted when the order is updated as Performed, select Performed.
- Select Update, and then select Close.
