Document That the Encounter is Incident to a Previous Encounter
- On the Finalize Visit template, select the Incident To check box.
The IORTS Incident to Plan window opens.
- You can filter the grid by selection the following option:
- Time Period
- Current Provider
- All Providers
- All Encounters
- Plans Only-ones that had plans
- Add additional diagnoses in the Today's Diagnosis grid if your practice is configured to allow it.
Note: If new diagnoses are added in this manner there must be documentation on the Billable Visit template per CMS guidelines.
- Select the encounter which today’s visit is incident to.
- Click OK.
- If the Add New Task window opens, do one of the following:
- To close the window without sending a task, click Cancel.
- To send a task, select any desired recipients (for example, billing department), move them to the Task Recipients grid, and then click Task.
- A field appears next to the Incident To check box, showing the encounter date that this visit has been designated as incident to.
