Add Today’s Diagnosis
To add a diagnosis for today’s visit, select the diagnosis in the
Diagnosis
grid.
The diagnosis appears in a field under
Today’s Diagnosis
.
Repeat step 1 for all diagnoses you want to list for today’s encounter.
To associate one or more of the selected diagnoses with this plan, select the
Dx for This Plan
check box for all applicable listed diagnoses.
Note:
If a diagnosis is not listed in the
Diagnosis
grid, click
Add
to open the
Common Assessments
template or
Problem IT
to open the
IMO
template.

Add a Diagnosis to Plan
The Diagnosis grid displays the patient’s diagnoses. You can add a diagnosis for today’s visit or use one from the Diagnosis grid. Filter the grid by selecting the Orthopedic or Medical option above the Diagnosis grid. Click Add under the grid to launch the Common Assessment template or click Problem IT if using IMO. Select a diagnosis to add to the patient’s history. Click Save & Close. Select a diagnosis from the Diagnosis grid to add it to today’s plan. The selected diagnosis moved to the Diagnosis field. Note: For the multi-fracture template, you can select the second and third diagnosis from the Diagnosis grid and the diagnosis are assigned to the Fracture 2 and Fracture 3 field respectively. Add an Assessment (Diagnosis)
The Today’s Diagnosis grid pulls in diagnoses that were entered on the Billable Visit template under the Diagnosis Management section. Diagnoses with a check mark are selected to be applied to Procedure codes in the coding grid. All diagnoses are selected by default when you open the Finalize Visit template. Click the Add - Remove button below the Today’s Diagnosis grid. The IORTS FV Add Assess template opens. IORTS FV Add Assess template Double-click the diagnosis in the patient’s Diagnosis grid to add it to the Today’s Diagnosis grid. Note: If a diagnosis is not in the grid, you can find and add it by using the Add button (or the Problem IT button if your practice is configured to use IMO). Click Close to return to the Finalize Visit template. The diagnosis is added to the Today’s Diagnosis grid. Parent topic: Finalizing a Patient Visit

Add an Assessment
Click the Add - Remove button below the Today’s Diagnosis grid. The IORTS FV Add Assess template opens. IORTS FV Add Assess template Double-click the diagnosis in the patient’s Diagnosis grid to add it to the Today’s Diagnosis grid. Note: If a diagnosis is not in the Diagnosis grid, you can find and add it by using the Add button (or the Problem IT button if your practice is configured to use IMO). Click Close. Add a Treating Diagnosis from the Common Assessments Template
You can add additional treating diagnoses using IMO or Common assessment templates. Note: If your practice is licensed for Problem Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) functionality, select the Problem IT button under the Treating Dx grid to open IMO to add assessments. Select Add. The Inf Common Assessment window opens. If the Common Assessments field is blank or does not show the Diagnosis Codes page you want, do the following: Select the Common Assessments field. The Inf Common Assess Dbpl window opens. Select the Diagnosis Codes page you want, and then select OK. The selected Diagnosis Codes page opens. Select one or more diagnoses. If you select an item with a plus sign, a picklist opens for you to select a more specific diagnosis. The Treating grid shows all selected diagnoses. Select Save & Close. Add New Assessments Using the Diagnosis Code Lookup Link
If the assessments that you want to add are not in the Billing Diagnosis History grid, you can add them from the Diagnosis Code Lookup link below the grid. Select the Diagnosis Code Lookup link. The diagnosis search window opens. Do one or both of the following, as needed. Enter any string of characters that may be in the clinical description for the diagnosis, and click Search. Scroll to find the diagnosis in the right-hand list. Highlight the diagnosis. Select Select. The Diagnosis search window closes and the diagnosis you selected appears in the Billing Diagnosis History grid. Select Add/Update to add the diagnosis to Today’s Assessments. When all assessments are in the Today’s Assessments grid, click Save & Close. All assessments in the Today’s Assessments grid on the Add or Update Assessment template are entered into the Today’s Assessments grid on the MICS Med/Admin OPH template. Add a Treating Diagnosis
As you review the ordering diagnoses for a therapy patient, the diagnosis you want to apply may not be listed. If the ordering diagnoses do not meet therapy treatment needs, you can add a different treating diagnosis. Note: You can also add treating diagnoses by using Problem Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO). If your practice is licensed for IMO, select the Problem IT button under the grid to open IMO to add assessments. Follow the documentation provided by IMO documentation to use IMO to add assessments. Under Treating Dx, select Add. The Inf Common Assessment window opens.
