Document Details of Radiology Orders

You can document the details of radiology orders for orthopedic patients. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Expand the Radiology panel. Select one of the following options for Performed: Internal Today for radiology tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. Internal Later for radiology tests performed and billed in your practice on a future encounter. External for radiology tests performed and billed at an external facility. Select the category of the radiology test, performing entity, and performing location. Note: The values in Category and Performing Entity determine the tests in the Radiology Tests grid. Category is set to X-ray unless you remove or rename this category in the Radiology Picklists panel of the Radiology Configuration template. Order Tests, Therapies, Equipment, and Referrals in the Single Order Template

You can document the details of radiology, therapy, lab, durable medical equipment (DME), and referral orders required for a patient and place all orders at once. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Select Dx & Px to add the necessary diagnoses and procedures. Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must add at least one diagnosis to order external radiology tests, therapies, durable medical equipment (DME), lab tests, and referrals. Note: You can use the Radiology Picklists panel in the Radiology Configuration template to make diagnosis-code selection mandatory for placing internal radiology test orders, depending on the category. Order Lab Tests in the Lab Order Template

You can place orders for lab tests performed and billed in your practice or at an external facility. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Lab Order. The Lab Order template opens. To add the diagnoses and procedures, select Dx & Px. Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order lab tests. Select one of the following options: Internal for lab tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. External for lab tests performed and billed at an external facility. From Performing Entity, select the entity performing the lab test. Optional: Select the priority. Note: By default, R - Routine appears in Priority. Document Ask-on-Entry Questions for Lab Tests

You can document answers for ask-on-entry (AOE) questions applicable for lab tests. If any ask-on-entry (AOE) questions are applicable for the selected test, a caution icon appears in the Lab Order template or in the Labs panel of the Single Order template. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Lab Order or Single Order. In the Lab Order template or the Labs panel of the Single Order template, select the caution icon. The IORTS Ord Labs AOE window opens. Search for a Lab Test

If the lab test you want to order is not listed on the template, you can search for and add it. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Lab Order or Single Order. In the Lab Order template or the Labs panel of the Single Order template, select Search. The IORTS Cfg Order Items Xpo window opens. Filter the lab tests by code or description. Manage Laboratory Order Details

In the Laboratory tab, you can view and modify your selected laboratory order items, associated diagnoses, and other general information, such as billing type and order priority. Note: Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) groups the laboratory order items by performing entity. Open CPOE. Select an order item. Assign a diagnosis to the order item. To view and modify the details of the order item, do one of the following: Select the Laboratory tab. In the All tab, select the order item's link under Description. Under the Laboratory Order section, do any of the following: View the patient's treatment history. Modify the assigned diagnosis . To change the performing entity for the selected laboratory order item, select the corresponding cross icon and reselect the order item with a different performing entity.
