View and Update Patient Demographic Information

You can access the Patient Demographics template from Demographics links on various NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates. For more information, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine documentation for the specific template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open an existing patient record. On the main toolbar, select Template . In the Select Template window, select the Demographics tab. Select the Patient Demographics template. Expand the panels to view the information. Do one of the following: To save your updates without closing the template, select File > Save. Access the Patient Demographics Template

Select the Patient Demographics template. The Patient Demographics template appears, displaying the selected patient's information. Expand the panels to view the information in them. You can add or edit information in the enabled fields. Demographic Information Panel

This panel displays patient demographic information pulled from NextGen® Enterprise PM. Demographic Information panel on the Pre Reg template You can update the patient SSN, and Address by clicking in the appropriate fields. Any changes made in this panel will be updated in NextGen® Enterprise PM. If the patient is a minor, enter the guardian’s name and relationship. To launch the Authorization to Treat template, right click the grid and select Add New. Employer information can be added by clicking the Add button below the employer grid and filling out the patient information. Phone numbers and best contact time can be entered as well as ethnicity, race and language. Double-click the appropriate grid to launch the templates or click the ELR button to launch the Patient Information template. Any changes made in these panels are sent to NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open the Patient Demographics Template

You can document patient details such as contact number, address, Primary Care Physician (PCP), primary practice provider, insurance, pharmacy, provider, emergency contact, employment, and reminder details, on the Patient Demographics template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient record. To open the Patient Demographics template, do one of the following: Open the Templates module, and double-click Patient Demographics in the Demographics tab. On the Home Page template, select the Demographics link. The Patient Demographics template opens. Add Patient Demographic Information

You can add demographic details of a patient on the Patient Demographics template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Patient Demographics template, and then expand the Patient Information panel. Patient Information Enter values for the following fields: State of birth Country of birth Blood type Enter information in the Race and Ethnicity fields. Note: You can add multiple values for race and ethnicity. To enter the patient's social security number, preferred language, and marital status on the Modify Patient Information template, select the corresponding fields.The Modify Patient Information window opens. The social security, preferred language, and marital status information you update in the Modify Patient Information window automatically appears in the Patient Information panel of the Patient Demographics template. Patient Demographics

You can review a selected patient's demographic information in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Patient Demographics template. You can also add or edit the default pharmacy, historical addresses, reminders, emergency contacts, and employment. To update other patient information, use the Modify Patient Information window. To add a patient, use the Add Patient Information window. For more information on person and patient search and to view patient information, refer to the Person and Patient Lookup in EHR and the Person and Patient Information sections.
