Submit to Supervisor Settings Grid

The NextGen® Orthopedic Suite looks first to the Provider master file in the File Maintenance to determine if a provider requires supervisor signoff. The Supervisor Required setting in File Maintenance assumes signoff is required on 100% of encounters. You can use the Submit to Supervisor Settings grid to override the requirement for 100% supervisor signoff for providers who only require supervisor signoff for certain encounters. Submit to Supervisor Settings grid in the Finalize Visit Settings panel Adding a provider’s name to this grid displays the Send to Supervising Physician button on the Finalize Visit template for encounters with that provider. The button gives the provider the option to submit the encounter to the supervisor for signoff. Submit to Supervisor Workflow

The Submit to Supervisor workflow is as follows: The NextGen® Orthopedic Suite looks to the Supervisor Required check box in the provider master file in File Maintenance to determine if the rendering supervisor requires supervisor signoff. Review and Sign Off the Master Document as a Supervising Provider

As a supervising provider, you can review and sign-off the master document. Before you begin To turn on the supervising provider in a practice, you need to select the Supervising provider at this practice checkbox in File Maintenance. Modify Provider Information Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Finalize template. On Provider Sign Off, select I have reviewed and agree with the diagnosis and treatment plan.The master document is generated or submitted for an offline generation with the following signature: Visit details reviewed and approved by supervising provider <Name> on <Date>. Supervisor Billing

You can create encounters that require that a supervisor is billed instead of a mid-level rendering provider. To set up this type of billing, you must do the following: Supervisor Billing is enabled by default for all payers, but you can disable it for payers that do not need it. Enable supervisor billing so that a supervisor is always required for a specific provider at the current practice. If necessary, enable or disable supervisor billing in the specific payer rows in the provider master file. The payer row setting overrides the practice-level setting on the Practice tab for just that provider/payer combination. The payer-level settings are available for payer rows at either the Default location (which will apply to all locations) or a specific location (which will only apply for that location). Send the Encounter to the Supervising Provider

You can submit the encounter to a supervising provider for review. If the following conditions are met, the Add New Task window opens after you click Submit to Supervising Physician. PAQ is disabled for the location on the Miscellaneous Configuration template. The automatic tasking is not configured for the supervisor signoff on the Tasking Configuration template. Note: For encounters that need supervisor sign off, you must click the Submit to Supervising Physician before clicking Submit. Finalizing a Patient Visit

You can enter a patient's visit details and today's diagnoses, and apply diagnosis codes to procedures to submit charges and finalize the visit.
