Update an Order to Indicate the Diagnostic Test was Performed

After performing a Retinal diagnostic test, technicians can update the test order to indicate that the test was performed.

  1. Access the Retina Diagnostics template set.
  2. Select the Perform Test tab.
    The Retina Perform Diagnostic Test - OPH template opens.
  3. From the Ordered Diagnostic Tests section, select the Show Ordered option to filter what appears in the Orders grid.
  4. In the Orders grid, select the row in the grid with the order you wish to update.
    Details for the selected row appear in the data fields in the Selected Test Details section below the grid.
  5. To document notes and complications, in the Selected Test Details section, enter the text in the large Notes/complications field.
  6. Click Test Performed.
    The test order is updated to include the following details:
    • Performed by
    • Performed date
    • Performed time

    The status of the test is updated to completed and a Test completed indicator appears on the panel for the test.

    The test now appears when the Orders grid is filtered to show Obtained and Completed orders.

  7. Repeat steps 3 - 6 for each test request listed in the grid that was performed today.
  8. After a test is completed, the test technician can notify the physician by Tasking.
  9. To generate a report for the full Ophthalmology Exam, click Generate Note.
