Additional Reason for Visit Panel Features

Additional features on the Reason for Visit panel enable you to adjust how you document chief complaints and HPI information, indicate follow-up visits, review the patient's HPI history, and remove studies reviewed from the grid. Feature Description Do not launch HPI Enables you to select one or more chief complaints/reasons for visit from the list without opening the HPI template To open the HPI template after selecting reasons for visit, click the row of one of the chief complaints listed in the grid. Additional/Manage Located in the left pane and opens the Reason for Visit template, where you can indicate a follow-up visit or you can type a chief complaint. The Reason for Visit template includes a complete list of chief complaints for the specialty Historic HPI Opens the Historic HPI template, where you can see the patient’s history of chief complaints and HPI details in a concatenated summary format for Ophthalmic specialties or all specialties Intake Comments Used by Intake staff

Reason for Visit

You can document the reason for visit as described by the patient on the Reason for Visit panel. In NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite, the retina reason for visit opens the Retina History of Present Illness - OPH template. All other reasons for visit open the Generic HPI - OPH template. Once opened, you can document multiple reasons for visits on the Generic HPI - OPH template. The Diagnostics button opens the Historical Diagnostic Tests - OPH template, where you can review historical diagnostic tests and add them to the HPI grid. You can configure the Reason for Visit panel on the Framework Content system template. Add Chief Complaints to the Reason for Visit List

You can set up a chief complaint to be accessible in the Reason for Visit list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Reason for Visit panel. Set the Filter to all. Select a gender from the filter by gender list. To select a reason for visit from the list, click the field above the Reason for Visit column of the grid. Note: If the required reason for visit is not listed, you can access the Manage Custom Links practice template to add the reason for visit. Click OK. The selected item appears in the field above the Reason for Visit column of the grid. Click Add. The added chief complaint appears in the Reason for Visit list. You can configure up to 14 chief complaints in the Reason for Visit panel. Each reason for visit is linked to a history of present illness template. You can create and store those links on the Manage Custom Links practice template. You can configure the complaints that appear in the Reason for Visit panel by adding them to the top list on the Framework Content system template. Before including a reason for visit in the top list, ensure that it exists in the all list. Note: You can include up to 14 reasons for visit in the top list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Reason for Visit panel. Set the Filter to top. The top reasons for visit appear in the grid. To select a reason for visit, click the field above the Reason for Visit column of the grid, and click OK. The list includes the reasons for visit from the all list, specific to the selected specialty. Click Add. The reason appears in the Reason for Visit grid and in the Reason for Visit panel on the Framework Content system template. Select the Additional/Manage link below the Other field in the left-side navigation. The Reason for Visit window opens. Reason for Visit window Select the reasons from the list on the left.
