Select Reasons for Visit using the Additional/Manage Link

The Additional/Manage link in the left pane of the Reason for Visit panel is used to search and select the reasons that are not available in the top ten reasons for visit. From the ASC - Physician Procedure template, go to the Reason for Visit panel, select the Additional/Manage link in the left pane.The Reason for Visit template opens. On the left side of the template, select the applicable reason(s). The selected reason(s) appears in the fields on the right of the template. If you want to select an HPI that is not included in your specialty, select the All HPIs checbox to display all the HPIs irrespective of specialty. Note: If the required reason is not listed in the template, then manually type in the reason in the first available field on the right side of the template. Select Save & Close to return to the ASC - Physician Procedures template.The selected reasons appear under the Reason for Visit column in the Reason for Visit panel. Add a Reason on the Reason for Visit Panel

In the Reason for Visit panel, select a reason (if available) in the grid to open the HPI template or select a reason from the left pane to open the corresponding HPI template. Note: The Reason for Visit options are dependent on the specialty selected. Enter the appropriate data in the template. Enter any comments. Select Save & Close.The data appears in a concatenated paragraph format under the History of Present Illness column in the Reason for Visit panel grid. Reason for Visit The Intake Comments link includes comments that the Intake staff might have entered in the Intake tab. If the comments are documented, the link changes color. The Comments button opens the HOPI Notes template to add any additional comments on the selected chief complaints. The Show All button opens the HOPI Notes template to view the HPI documentation for all chief complaints. Add Reasons for Visits

You can add HPIs as the reasons for a patient's visit. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Reason for Visit panel, select Do not launch HPI. Note: You can configure the Do not launch HPI checkbox on the Practice Configuration template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Practice Configuration Template User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. To select the appropriate complaint, do one of the following: Select a link from the left pane in the Reason for Visit panel. Select Additional / Manage to choose maximum six reasons from the resulting template. Note: If the selected reason is a duplicate, a message appears highlighting the duplication. Add Procedure Details in Ambulatory Surgery

In Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), you can add the procedure details of a patient and the added procedures form the reasons for the patient visit. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Home Page template, and then in Specialty, select Ambulatory Surgery and in the Visit Type, select Procedure. To open the ASC - Intake template, select Intake. Expand the Procedure panel, and then select the applicable procedures. Note: The added procedures in the Procedure panel appear in the Reason for Visit panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure template. But, if you update any existing procedures in the panel, then a new record is added in the Reason for Visit panel. Select the Physician Proc tab. The ASC - Physician Procedure template opens, displaying the same procedures added in the Procedure panel in the Reason for Visit panel. Note: When you remove any reason for visit from the Reason for Visit panel, the reason is removed from the panel, but not from the Procedure panel. The procedures in the

Reasons for Visit of Patients

You can document a patient's reasons for visit. On the Reason for Visit panel, you can document the common reasons for a patient visit. You can view the configurable specialty-specific reasons for visit list on the left pane. When you select a reason for visit that is already selected in the current encounter, a message appears highlighting the duplication. You can retain or remove the duplicate reason for visit. You can select up to 14 History of Present Illness (HPIs) simultaneously. Additionally, you can select the Do not launch HPI checkbox and any HPI to open the corresponding HPI template. Note: You can configure sub menu items for the reason for visit on the Framework Content system template for the specialty. Based on the configuration, on the applicable template, the sub menu items appear in the Reason for Visit panel on the left pane under the respective HPI.
