Configuring Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests

After you have reviewed the diagnostic tests already set up for Ophthalmology, you can make changes to update existing tests or adding new tests. Before you add new tests to the Ophthalmology diagnostic tests data set, it is recommended that you first review test categories in the oph_dx_setup_category custom DB picklist, and if appropriate, add any new categories.

Packaged diagnostic tests are indicated with the value NG in the Edit field/column. For these diagnostic tests, you are able to modify and update test codes and test types, but the category remains the same. These pre-defined test categories have been locked down and cannot be changed because they are involved in behind the scenes processes related to triggers, stored procedures, and billing.

Combinations of Billing/Test code and Category for test rows that are not hidden must be unique. If the combination of Billing/Test code and Category for non-hidden tests are not unique then unexpected billing results may occur.
