If you want to add new or modified tests to the Ophthalmology diagnostic tests data set that require new test categories, you must first add any new test categories to the oph_dx_setup_category custom DB picklist. Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests Setup Data Set

The Oph diagnostic tests data set manages records that control how certain diagnostic tests used by Ophthalmology are processed. These data set records control billing options, how records are sent to the Orders module, computerized provider order entry (CPOE), and if they are displayed on the test ordering template. Each row in the grid represents a single diagnostic test. The following shows the diagnostic test information contained in the Oph diagnostic tests data set as it appears on the Order Tests – OPH template in the Select tests section. Up to 40 tests display. Tests performed today and tests to be performed in the future can be ordered from the Order Tests – OPH template. Tests that are ordered are saved to the order_table and they can be uploaded to the Orders module. Fields Used by the Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests Setup Data Set

Each of the diagnostic tests configured in the Ophthalmology diagnostic tests data set has specific information to be set up. Field Name Description Test description The Test description field is used to display and edit the test description. The selection made from the Procedure opened from the Billing/Test code field appears in this field automatically. Clicking this field opens the Procedures template. The description can be edited as needed. Billing/Test code The Billing/Test code contains the procedure code for the test. Clicking this field opens the Procedures template. This field can be edited as needed. Order module code The Order module code must be set up in File Maintenance before the 'send to module' feature will send the test to the Order module. Diagnostic Testing Performed by Technicians

Diagnostic tests performed by the technician are ordered and documented on the Testing – OPH template. Orders for testing must be placed before billable tests are performed. On the Testing – OPH template, tests are organized in panels. You can expand the panels to view the data fields for documenting a test. Note: Because Slit Lamp and External Photos use the same billing code, two billing lines appear in the Procedure Billing grid. Order Sets

On the Assessment/Plan – OPH template, the Order Sets link in the Plan section opens the My Plan tab of the My Plan/Orders tabbed template set. The My Plan template is a template where orders are placed based on client customizable order sets. Order sets are based on disease categories that correspond to the selected assessment. When you highlight an assessment in the upper left of the My Plan template, the template displays the orders for the disease category associated with the selected assessment. my plan template There are four order sets for Ophthalmology: diabetic retinopathy glaucoma cataracts macular degeneration Diagnostic tests can be set up by clients to be listed in either the Diagnostics or the Office Procedure sections of the My Plan template. Note: Orders in the Diagnostics section are sent to the Order module. Orders in the Office Procedures section do not go to the Orders module. Orders

Patient orders appear in the Orders panel. You can display orders by category using the Filter options in the panel. You can also filter Diagnostic Orders to display All tests or sort by the order status. The order categories are as follows: Appointment Requests/Orders Diagnostic Orders Labs oph order panel The Order Management link in the Orders panel opens the Order Management template, where you can update the status, co-sign, or cancel orders.
