Place Orders with any Orders Template Place Orders with any Orders Template When you open the Assessments/My Plan/Orders tabbed template set, you can choose to place orders using the customizable My Plan template or from one of the other ordering templates in the set, including Labs, Diagnostics, Referrals, and Office Procedures. Note: Orders for Ophthalmic diagnostic tests are ordered using the Order Tests link. Select the assessment to be associated with the orders. Select your orders by selecting the options or check box corresponding to the item you want to order. Click Place Order. Place Orders with My Plan

On the My Plan template, highlight an assessment in the upper left of the template in the Today's Assessments grid. Select the check boxes corresponding to items to be ordered. To select an order item not displayed: Click the down-arrow of an available field in the appropriate order type section to open a list of all items available in the system for that order type. Locate the item you want to order in the list, highlight it and click OK. The selected item appears in the field. Select the check box corresponding to the item to order it. Click Place Order.When you place orders for labs and radiology diagnostic studies, you or someone from your office must process and submit them to the Order module. Click the Lab/Diagnostics/Radiology Order Module Processing link found in the lower right corner of the template to launch the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. Links Found in the Plan Section of Assessment/Plan - OPH

The Plan section has the following links for documenting a plan. Link Description Cataract Post-Op Complications Opens the Cataract Post-Op Complications template used to document patient complications after cataract surgery. Quick Plan Opens the Quick Plan feature used to quickly select a predefined plan based on condition. OPH Plan Details Opens the OPH Plan Details template used to document an Ophthalmology specific plan. Order Sets Opens the core My Plan or My Custom Plan template and the My Plan template set. This template set is not specific to Ophthalmology. My Phrases Opens the My Phrases feature used to document details using a provider's saved frequently used phrases. Templates in the My Plan/Orders Template Set

Templates in the My Plan/Orders tabbed template set include the following: Assessments also known as the Add or Update Assessments template; used in other specialties to document assessments for the patient Today's Assessments. My Plan – the customizable My Plan template based on order sets for diagnosis categories that can be modified and managed by clients using practice templates; diagnosis categories are part of a reference system. A/P Details – the Assessment/Plan Details template, used in other specialties, where providers document impression, differential diagnoses, and plan details. Labs – the Orders module displaying the Lab section of the Orders Console is used for placing and managing lab orders Diagnostics – the Diagnostics Studies template used for ordering and managing diagnostic radiology studies, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound. Documenting a Plan Documenting a Plan A plan for the patient can be documented in the Plan section of the Assessment/Plan – OPH template. In NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite, there are several ways to document a plan. You also have the option of using core templates in the My Plan template set. Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests Setup Data Set

The Oph diagnostic tests data set manages records that control how certain diagnostic tests used by Ophthalmology are processed. These data set records control billing options, how records are sent to the Orders module, computerized provider order entry (CPOE), and if they are displayed on the test ordering template. Each row in the grid represents a single diagnostic test. The following shows the diagnostic test information contained in the Oph diagnostic tests data set as it appears on the Order Tests – OPH template in the Select tests section. Up to 40 tests display. Tests performed today and tests to be performed in the future can be ordered from the Order Tests – OPH template. Tests that are ordered are saved to the order_table and they can be uploaded to the Orders module.
