Add Charges for Patients

You can search and add charges for a patient. If you are a NextGen® Enterprise user, when you search for a charge, NextGen® Mobile searches your practice's Service Item Master (SIM) library. If you are not a NextGen® Enterprise user, NextGen® Mobile does an IMO code search.

  1. Open NextGen® Mobile.
  2. Open the Patient Chart view.

  3. In the Charges section, select New Charge.
    The New Charge view opens.

  4. To change the Date of Service, select the date.
    The calendar opens. You can select a date and then select .
  5. To select a charge, select the charge in the Quick Picks section.
    The Quick Picks section displays either the charges that you have used at least twice for the patient or the charges appropriate for the current location.
    The selected charge appears below the service date heading.
  6. To search for a charge, do the following:
    1. Enter the search text in the Search New Charges field.
    2. Select Search.
      A list of results that match your search text appears.
    3. To select a charge, select the name of the charge.
      The selected charge appears below the service date heading.
    4. Select Done.
  7. To update the charge details, select Edit beside the charge.
  8. To add attachments to the charge, select Attach Image.
  9. To add comments to the charge, select Add Comment.
  10. Select Next.
    The Associate Dx view opens.

  11. To add a diagnosis, select Add diagnosis.
  12. Select Submit.
    The Patient Chart view opens with the added charge. The charge completion icon appears on the Schedule view.
