QuickPick Toolbar

The QuickPick toolbar in the upper right has six buttons.

The first three buttons control the use and saving of QuickPicks (see QuickPick Toolbar) The other three perform more global functions.

Document Using QuickPicks

You can use a QuickPick to fill in the template quickly and efficiently. Here we describe using QuickPicks that you built and saved previously (see QuickPick Toolbar). Select the Star button to access the rendering provider’s QuickPicks or the Double-Star button to access System Sets and other providers’ QuickPicks. A picklist opens with the available QuickPicks. Select a QuickPick from the list and click OK. The information populates into the fields of the panel(s) exactly as it was saved, with the Lot Number field saying Required in red. If sub-locations are enabled for your practice, click the Sub-Location field and select the sub-location from which the medication is being used. Select the Lot Number field. A picklist opens. Select the lot number. The system runs a DUR Check for the medication. The expiration date for the selected lot displays in the Exp. Date field. Repeat steps 4-5 for all medications. Delete a QuickPick

QuickPicks can be deleted from the rendering provider. Select the floppy disk icon from the QuickPick tool bar. TheCreate Custom QuickPick template opens. Select the QuickPick from the grid. The Name field fills in. Select Delete. The QuickPick is removed. Parent topic: QuickPick Toolbar

Save a QuickPick Under the Rendering Provider

Fill out all information to be saved as part of the QuickPick. Select the Floppy Disk button in the QuickPick tool bar. The INF Default Save window opens. The Category field defaults to the template name from which the INF Default Save window was opened. The Provider field defaults to the rendering provider for this encounter. Enter a name for the QuickPick.in the Name field. Select Add to save the QuickPick under the rendering provider. Update a QuickPick

Load the QuickPick onto the template. Make the changes to the fields and selections on the template. Select Save. The Create Custom QuickPick template opens and the Name field displays the name of the QuickPick that you loaded. Select the Update button to save the updates. Parent topic: QuickPick Toolbar

Save a System Set QuickPick

Only security groups with configured rights to save System Set scan save a System Set QuickPick. Fill out all information in the template panel(s) to be saved as part of the QuickPick. With the information still in the fields, click the Floppy Disk button in the QuickPick tool bar. The Create Custom QuickPick template opens. The Category field defaults to the template name and the Provider field defaults to the rendering provider for this encounter. Check the System Set check box. The Provider field says System Set instead of the rendering provider’s name. Enter a name for the QuickPick in the Name field. Select Add to save the QuickPick as a System Set. QuickPicks

QuickPicks are an efficient way to enter template information for a typical visit. You can save the standard entries of a template as a QuickPick. Then, when you enter information for another patient encounter, you can save time by adding the entries from the saved QuickPick.
