Document Vaccine Information by Scanning the Barcode

You can document details of vaccines that need to be administered by scanning the barcode. Open the MICS Immunizations template. Enter the name of the preparer of the vaccine in the Prepared By field. Expand the Immunization Administration panel. Select one of the following options to view the required order in the Immunization Orders grid: Today's Orders Prior Pending Orders Select the required vaccine order from the Immunization Orders grid. The name of the provider who ordered the vaccine appears in the Ordering Provider field at the top of the MICS Immunizations template. The entries in the grid for vaccine name, expiry date, and CPT® code appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. The entries change as you enter additional details for the vaccine. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Select Scan Barcode. Scan the required medication barcode generated from the Barcode Configuration template. Document Medication Details Manually

You can document medication details for an eye injection procedure manually. The picklists for many of the fields open sequentially on selecting a value in the previous field. However you can change your selection in any of the fields by selecting another value. Note: You must select a Sub-location, If sub-locations are turned on for your practice. Open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, and then do one of the following: To document the right-eye-injection procedure, expand the OD Injection panel. To document the left-eye-injection procedure, expand the OS Injection panel. Injection panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template Select Source. The MLTS Dbpl Medication Name list appears. Select the medication being administered. The MLTS Dbpl Medication Lot list appears. Select the lot number for the medication in the Lot # field. The DUR Interaction window opens, displaying all the possible interactions for the selected medicine. Select the interactions you want to acknowledge, enter the reason,

Document Administered or Dispensed Medications Manually

When a medication is prescribed or ordered from Medications module or Procedure Orders template, it appears in the Medication Management grid. You can document the dispensing and administration of that medication. On the MICS Med Management template, expand the Medication Management panel. In the top grid, select the prescribed or ordered medication. The details of the medication appear in the Manage Selected Medication section. If sub-locations are turned on for the practice, select the sub-location the medication is pulled from, and select OK. Note: Sub-Location is a required field, if turned on. To add the diagnosis codes for selected medication, select diagnosis codes in the Diagnosis and Second Dx fields. Note: You can not edit the diagnosis codes that are associated with the medications in the Medications module or Office Procedures template. You can manually document medication details administered through an injection procedure. Note: You can add up to four medications for an injection procedure. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel. Select the Procedure Type as Injection. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Enter the procedure information. From the Source field, select the source of medication. The MLTS Dbpl Medication Name picklist opens. Select the medication being administered in the Medication field. The MLTS Dbpl Med Ndc Lot Inj picklist opens. Select the lot number for the medication in the Lot Number field. The system runs a DUR Check for the medication. If the system cannot complete the DUR Check, a message appears and a note is added to the bottom of the template notifying you that a manual DUR Check should be completed. The Quantity keypad opens. Document Dispensing Medication Manually

You can manually document medication dispensed to a patient in your practice. When you are entering medication information manually, making a selection for a field opens the picklists for the next field. If you close a picklist without making a selection, select the next field that you need to enter information into open the picklist for that field. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing panel. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Select the source in the Source field. The Medication picklist opens. Select the medication being administered in the Medication field. The MLTS Dbpl Med NDC Lot picklist opens. Select the lot number in the Lot Number field. The DUR check window opens and displays all the possible interactions for a selected medicine. Select the interactions you want to acknowledge, enter the reason, and select Acknowledge. You can document medication details administered through an injection procedure by scanning the barcode printed on the medication package. You can enter the source, drug, lot number, unit type, expiration date and J-Code for a medications by scanning the barcode. You must select the quantity manually. Note: You can add up to four medications for an injection procedure. On the MICS Injections/Aspirations template, expand the Procedure Type panel. Select the Procedure Type as Injection. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Enter the procedure information. Select Scan Barcode. Scan the medication barcode printed on the medication package.
