Patient Response

After the injection or aspiration is performed, you can use the Patient Response section to document how the patient tolerated the injection. Select the injection or aspiration from the Administered Today grid. The information fills into one of the panels. Select the Improvement field and select a value from the picklist. Select the % field and enter a percentage using the key pad. Select the Details field and enter in any additional details. Mark the No or Yes option to document if the patient tolerated the procedure well. Enter any additional notes in the Notes field. Select Add/Update to save the patient’s response. Documenting Eye Injections

You can document procedure and medication information for eye injection procedures in the OD Injection and OS Injection panels on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. You can document the medication information for up to two medications for an eye injection. You can also document patient's response for the documented injection in the Patient Response section. Document Procedure Information for Eye Injections You can manually document procedure information for an eye injection or using a Quickpick. Record Details for Patient's General Response

To record details for the patient’s general response to the procedures performed during the current encounter, on the Joint Aspiration/Injection template, fill in the associated fields. Patient Response section The provider can also go back after the procedure is completed to fill in the Improvement by site and % Improvement fields. Select No or Yes next to Tolerated procedure well. To specify how the patient tolerated of the procedure, do one of the following: Free text details in the Comments field. Use the My Phrases functionality. Documenting an Injection

You can document the procedure and medication information for an injection in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. You can document the medication information for up to four medications for an injection. You can also document patient's response for the documented injection in the Patient Response section. You can document the general procedure details, appearance, and quantity of the fluid drawn off, and the patient’s response for an aspiration procedure in the Procedure Type panel on the MICS Injections/Aspirations template. Document Administered Medications Manually

You can manually document medication administered to a patient in your practice. On the MICS Dispensing template, expand the Medication Dispensing and Administration panel. Select the sub-location, if turned on. Select the source in the Source field. The Medication picklist opens. Select the medication being administered in the Medication field. The MLTS Dbpl Med NDC Lot picklist opens. Select the lot number for the medication being administered in the Lot Number field. The DUR check window opens and displays all the possible interactions for a selected medicine. Select the interactions you want to acknowledge, enter the reason, and select Acknowledge. The Number Pad window opens to select quantity. Enter or select the quantity of the medication being administered, and select OK. Note: For single dose medications, if you enter a quantity lesser than the vial amount, a confirmation message appear to confirm wasting the remaining quantity. You must select Yes.
