Select an Immunizations Order Filter

If you select Immunizations Order Type, you can generate various reports by selecting the appropriate Immunizations filters. Examples of some of the types of immunization reports you might need to generate follow: Patients who have had a particular vaccine within a certain time period. All immunizations completed on a specific date. Immunizations marked as an error for the current date. Vaccines that have been ordered but not yet administered. Vaccine for Children (VFC) Immunizations information. For example, a report that lists American Indian or Alaskan natives who are VFC-eligible and have received VFC Immunizations by a certain date. Select Orders from the Report Filter Settings List. Report Filter Select Immunizations from the Select Order Type list. Select the Performing Entity (registry) from the list. If necessary, select to display the Registries Search window. Select a registry, if necessary, and select OK. Select a Vaccine name from the list or select to search for a vaccine

Create Immunization Orders

You can use the Immunizations template to review immunizations for the patient and to create an immunization record. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Select Immunizations.The Immunizations template opens. Select New.The Create New Immunization Order template opens. Select plus next to Select Diagnosis to attach a diagnosis to the vaccine. In the Select Vaccines section, click Search All to order vaccines. Note: Vaccines can be searched by vaccine name, CVX code, CPT®4 code, or CPT4 description. There is also an option to search all vaccines or only those within the inventory. The Search Vaccines window opens. Enter the vaccine name, CVX code, CPT4 code, or CPT4 description. Select the Search inventory only or Search all vaccines option. Select Find. Administering Immunizations

Each patient is unique and the Immunizations module provides flexibility and efficient functionality to help you administer each immunization according to patient needs. After you determine which immunization the patient needs, the next step is to administer the specific Immunization order. Each order requires certain information about the vaccine and other pertinent information such as billing codes, registry, and special patient needs, for example Medicare patients. During the administration process, you can review the VIS history, print the VIS document, track the Immunizations life cycle for each order, and administer a vaccine not in the Vaccine Inventory. After you have administered the immunization, for your records, you can print the Immunization Summary report to view a patient’s immunizations. Order a Vaccine

You can order a vaccine from the Create New Immunization Order for [patient name] template. On the MICS Immunizations template, expand the Immunization Ordering panel. Select New. The Create New Immunization Order for [patient name] template opens. Do one of the following. If the vaccine is available in the Select Vaccines grid, select the vaccine. To search for a vaccine that is not in the grid, search the vaccine using Search All button and select the vaccine. If an Age/Interval window opens, select Yes to continue. If the Review Allergies window opens, select the appropriate option, and select Save. The Review Allergies window closes and the selected vaccine appears the Assign Diagnosis to Selected Vaccines grid. Select Save. The Create New Immunization Order For [patient name] template closes. The Immunizations module enables you to access Immunizations schedules to determine when an immunization is due for a patient. You can also track the immunizations life cycle, including the immunization status.
