Scenario Where a Person Is Found but Unlinked in Both the NextGen® Database and External System
- From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Chart.
- In the Patient Lookup window, enter search criteria, and select Find.
The system searches the NextGen® database and displays the results in the Patient Lookup window.
- Select a patient, and then select Open.
The EMPI Search window opens and displays a list of potential matches found in the NextGen® database.
- Double-click a record to link it with both systems.
If the external system is trusted, the NextGen® database is updated with the demographic data from the eternal system. Otherwise, the external system is updated with the demographic data from the NextGen® database.
- To add the person's demographic data to the external system, select No Matches.
- To continue without linking the patient to both systems, select Ignore.
