Encounter and Patient History Icons

The following icons in the Encounter History and Categories tabs provide a quick visual reference to indicate the status and type of an encounter or case and documents. Icon Name Description Encounter Indicates an encounter. Sensitive Encounter Indicates a sensitive encounter. Group Encounter Indicates a group encounter. Case Indicates a case. Locked Indicates a locked encounter. Unlocked Indicates an unlocked encounter. Encounter Type Icons

Icons within the Encounter History tab provide a quick visual reference to determine the status and type of contents within an encounter or a case. Icon Name Description Appointment Indicates that the encounter for the patient is linked to an appointment. External Practice Indicates that the encounter was created at another practice within the Enterprise. Group Indicates a group encounter. Case Indicates a case. Addendum Indicates that there are images and/or documents added to a locked encounter. Chart Update Indicates an encounter used to add documentation or update a record within a patient chart that was not part of a billable service. For example, documentation of a telephone call or prescription refill. Sensitive Encounter Indicates a sensitive encounter. Encounter History/Categories Document Menu

You can select a patient document on the Encounter History or Categories tab to display the document menu with the following commands: Command Description Provider Signoff Details Displays the current signoff status, rendering provider, provider reassignment (if applicable), and comments for a patient document. Send to Patient Portal Opens the Patient Portal Document Export window to export a document, image, or SAP® Crystal Reports® to NextGen® PxP Portal for patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: If the document is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal, the icon appears next to the document icon. Patient Portal History Details Displays the audit trail of a document that is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Recategorize Opens the Recategorize this item window. Properties Displays the document and encounter information, file properties, and user permissions for a selected patient document. Open Encounter Components

Before you begin Ensure that Access Rights in Rights > OPERATIONS > Encounters > View Encounter Summary is set to Yes in System Administrator to view the clinical data on the Encounter Summary window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: When Access Rights is set to No, the data on the right side of the Encounter Summary window is hidden. However, you can still view and use the documents, images, templates, and files that appear on the left side of the window. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view the type of clinical data associated with the encounters and the properties of documents, images, or SAP Crystal Reports within an encounter on the Encounter History tab. NextGen® HIE Documents

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR Categories tab, you can view the imported, and exported Health Information Exchange (HIE) document categories in the My Categories tab based on user-level configuration. To view a specific HIE document, you can expand the appropriate HIE document category, and select the required item. The following are HIE document categories. HIE Documents, displays only imported HIE documents. HIE Documents (Sent), displays only exported HIE documents. HIE Consent, displays only HIE consent documents. The following CDA validation icons appear with the HIE documents. The icon indicates that a document passed CDA validation. The icon indicates that a document did not pass CDA validation.
