In NextGen® Enterprise EHR Categories tab, you can view the imported, and exported Health Information Exchange (HIE) document categories in the My Categories tab based on user-level configuration.
To view a specific HIE document, you can expand the appropriate HIE document category, and select the required item. The following are HIE document categories.
- HIE Documents, displays only imported HIE documents.
- HIE Documents (Sent), displays only exported HIE documents.
- HIE Consent, displays only HIE consent documents.
The following CDA validation icons appear with the HIE documents.
- The
icon indicates that a document passed CDA validation.
- The
icon indicates that a document did not pass CDA validation.
- If neither icon appears indicates that a document is not yet validated.
The following PAQ status icons appear with the HIE documents.
- The
icon indicates the PAQ pending item.
- The
indicates the PAQ rejected item.
- The
indicates the PAQ approved item.

Note: To send NextGen® HIE documents to the PAQ, the HIE Documents check box must be enabled on the tab in the System Administrator. The NextGen® HIE interface checks this option to determine if the signoff status should be set to pending.
