Signoff Patient Document

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR you can sign off (accept) each patient document. If the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) is enabled, you can sign off the document either in the PAQ or directly in the Documents module. When a document is accepted in one location, it is automatically listed as accepted in the other location. If the PAQ is not enabled, you can only sign off the documents in the Documents module. Generate a patient document. Make any required changes. You can enter the information directly into the document and use the standard formatting toolbar options. Select File and select Save. View Existing Patient Documents

You can view the existing patient documents on the Encounter History or the Categories tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the appropriate encounter on the Encounter History tab and select the icon. The Encounter Details window opens. The icon to the left indicates the signoff status. If you do not see the document icon, select button on the Encounter History or the Categories tab. Select the document link to open the document in the designated viewer. Note: If the system detects a possible mismatched file format, it attempts to determine the actual format of the document and load it. If the document does not display properly, you can change the file format in the database to match the format in which the document has opened, or you can select a different document viewer. View HIE Document Validation and PAQ Status

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can view the Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents CDA validation and PAQ status details on the Categories tab. Note: By default, Rosetta performs CDA validation automatically when an HIE document is imported or exported. If you want to disable or enable CDA validation, contact NextGen Healthcare support. Additionally, you can configure the CDA Viewer to perform HIE document validation in EHR. To configure the CDA viewer, you must use the General > Enable Automatic CDA Validation option on the CDA Viewer Configuration window. For more details, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest CDA Viewer User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select Tree View from the list. Select HIE Documents category. View HIE Document Category Items

Before you begin To display the HIE documents on the Categories tab, you must configure the Sent HIE Document Category option in the StoreHIEDocuments Rosetta agent. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR Categories tab, you can view the imported, and exported Health Information Exchange (HIE) document categories in the My Categories tab based on user-level configuration. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select .The My Patient History Settings window opens. Under the My Patient History Settings | Categories section, select Select Categories.A window opens displaying a list of available categories. To display the imported HIE documents, select HIE Documents category from the list. To display the exported HIE documents, select HIE Documents (Sent) category from the list. To display the HIE consent documents, select HIE Consent category from the list. Select Apply. Select Tree View from the list, and select My Categories tab

Patient Documents

Patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR can be a medical or lab report, a referral form, a professional letter, or any other custom-designed form. You can generate new patient documents from previously created user-defined format documents in the Document Builder. When a patient document is generated, macros in format documents insert data from selected template fields. A patient document can be created locally or remotely on a remote workstation. The patient documents are attached to the applicable encounter in the patient's chart. The patient's chart may also contain documents created outside Document Builder. Third-party documents are imported through the NextGen® Interface Engine Document Import Agent. NextGen® Health Information Exchange (HIE) and Continuity-of-Care (CCD) documents are attached to the NextGen® HIE Documents Category of the Categories tab. Validate the HIE Documents

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, on the Categories tab, you can validate the Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select Tree View from the list. Select HIE Documents category. To expand the category, do one of the following: To expand all categories, select Category Options, and select Expand All Categories. To expand the selected category, select . Double-click the appropriate HIE document.The HIE document opens. Select the CDA Validation tab.The CDA Validation pane opens. Note: The CDA validation did not pass icon displays for the validation not completed HIE documents on the Categories tab. On the CDA Validation pane, select Validate Now.The validation details appear in the CDA Validation pane. Note: You can select on the Categories tab to update the CDA validation icon.
