Document Type Viewers
NextGen® Enterprise EHR provides the following three document viewers for use with different document formats. You can specify document viewers under NextGen® Enterprise EHR Documents Preferences. Your system administrator can help you determine which viewers are appropriate for your practice. Viewer Format Supported Description TX Text .doc .docx .rtf .txt TX Text is the default viewer for all patient documents. It is also the default viewer for documents in Rich Text Format (RTF) and plain text format that are attached to patient encounters/categories in NextGen® Enterprise EHR through the Document Monitor utility. Note: NextGen® Healthcare recommends using the TX Text viewer for all supported document formats. The ability to insert addendums and lab results in a patient document is available with this viewer only. Word Application .doc .docx .hed .rtf .txt Note: To use this viewer, you must have Microsoft® Word installed and the Browse in the same window option enabled in Microsoft®

For TX Text viewer only, right-click the Ruler bar or Icon/Button bar, and then select Font and Layout. For TX Text, do one of the following: From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select View > Icon Bar. In the Document menu, select Ruler Bar. Ruler Bar
TX Text viewer Ruler bar The Ruler bar includes a ruler scale that enables you to set up and view margins, indents, and tabs for selected paragraphs as well as for the entire document. The left document margin is indicated by two stacked triangles; the right margin is indicated by a single triangle. Default tab stops are marked at every .5 inch with an L (Left tab) symbol in the TX Text viewer. You can change the default settings as required. Parent topic: Viewer Window Components
