Set Up Rights for the Orders Module

To be able to use all of the features in the Orders module, settings in System Administrator have to be set. When set to Yes, it gives system users the rights to create and save orders and perform other functions through the Orders module. CAUTION: If users can access the Medical Records template with the Trend Results order control, they are able to view a patient’s test results. If your practice determines only certain users should be able to view a patient’s test results when they access the Medical Records template, you can set up the applicable Modules, Templates-Medical Records permissions in the System Administrator application. Set Up the Security Rights to Access Results

You can provide access to users to add, view, and delete the lab results. Open System Administrator. Select the practice and the user group. Select the Rights tab. Select Modules to expand the list. Select Discrete Data Import to expand the list. Select Results. To enable the Reconcile button in the Orders module and to enable the Results tab in the Clinical Reconciliation module, select View. To add a new panel, select Add. To replace any of the panel data or results, select Delete. If practice users have access to Discrete Data Import, then all the options are selected by default. The Update and Print options are not used for the lab results. To select or disable all the access rights for this group, select Select/Deselect All. Select Save. Set Up the Provider Sign off Values for Orders and the PAQ

Order (Lab) results can be set up to display in the Provider Approval Queue to require sign off from a provider. Before you can use this function, you must have rights using the System Administrator. Open System Administrator and enter your credentials. Select the practice. Select View > Provider Signoff Setup. The Provider Signoff Setup window opens. Note: If you do not see the Provider Signoff Setup selection, select View, select System Info, and then turn on the Enable Provider Approval Queue check box. It should then show up in the View menu as one of the selections. Select one or more providers in the list, or select the All Providers check box to select providers. Select the Setup tab. Select the All Lab Results check box and select Use Encounter Provider or Use Ordering Provider. Select Save. Sign off Lab and Radiology Test Results

On the Orders Summary tab, select an order with an Assigned status. Note: The system displays the Assigned status in red for orders with test results. The results for the test appear in the Results section of the Orders Summary tab. To sign off the test for the order, right-click the order and select Sign-off from the list. The Validation Sign-off window appears. Enter your User name and Password. Enter any sign-off comments. To sign off all orders with an Assigned order status, select Sign-off All Assigned Orders. Select Sign-off. On the Orders Summary tab, the Sign-off date and Sign-off person displays for the order. The system updates the NextGen Status column to Signed-off. On the Orders Summary tab, orders with a status of Assigned can be signed off. You can add sign-off comments in the Validation Sign-off window before you save the order. After you save the signed-off the order, it appears on the Orders Summary tab with a status of Signed-off. You can access the signed-off order on the Orders Summary tab and enter additional sign-off or tracking comments in the Sign-Off and Tracking Comments section, if necessary. You can set up the sign-off rights for the providers in your practice.
