Sign off Lab and Radiology Test Results
On the
Orders Summary
tab, select an order with an
Assigned
status.
Note:
The system displays the Assigned status in red for orders with test results.
The results for the test appear in the Results section of the Orders Summary tab.
To sign off the test for the order, right-click the order and select
Sign-off
from the list.
The
Validation Sign-off
window appears.
Enter your
User name
and
Password
.
Enter any sign-off comments.
To sign off all orders with an
Assigned
order status, select
Sign-off All Assigned Orders
.
Select
Sign-off
.
On the
Orders Summary
tab, the Sign-off date and Sign-off person displays for the order. The system updates the
NextGen Status
column to
Signed-off
.

Lab and Radiology Test Result Sign-off
On the Orders Summary tab, orders with a status of Assigned can be signed off. You can add sign-off comments in the Validation Sign-off window before you save the order. After you save the signed-off the order, it appears on the Orders Summary tab with a status of Signed-off. You can access the signed-off order on the Orders Summary tab and enter additional sign-off or tracking comments in the Sign-Off and Tracking Comments section, if necessary. You can set up the sign-off rights for the providers in your practice. The results for the test appear in the Results section of the Orders Summary tab. To sign off the test for the order, right-click the order and select Sign-off from the list. The Validation Sign-off window appears. Enter your User name and Password. Enter any sign-off comments. To sign off all orders with an Assigned order status, select Sign-off All Assigned Orders. Set Up Rights for Sign Off on Orders Results
To sign off Orders Results, a setting in NextGen System Administrator has to be turned on. When set to Yes, it gives system users rights to update the NextGen test results. Open System Administrator and enter your credentials. Select the practice. Select to select the user to whom you want to give Orders Results Sign Off rights. Select the Rights tab. Scroll through the list to find the Orders Results Sign Off right. In the Access Rights section in the right pane, check the box by Yes or No. A Yes selection allows a user with this setting to sign off on test and radiology orders. Select Save. Orders Summary Grid Columns
The following table lists the columns that may appear on the Orders Summary grid for Lab and Radiology orders based on the pre-defined or user-defined filter you select. Column Description Image Type Opens an icon indicating the order type. This column appears by default for all filters. Comments Contains a link to the associated comments in the Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. Documents Contains a link to an associated document or image or URL in the Results panel for the specific order. Recurrence Opens an icon indicating a future or recurring order. You can select the icon to open the View Order Schedule window where you can view order schedule. Ordered Elsewhere Opens an icon indicating the order was created outside the NextGen® Enterprise system. Order # The number assigned to an order when you create and save a new order.
