NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to set up new family units from existing patients. The Family Unit Setup window enables you to either create a new group of patients or make changes to an existing group.
From the File menu, select Family Unit and then Unit Setup.
The Family Unit Setup and Family Name windows open.
In the Family Name window, enter the name of the family unit to set up, and select Add.
The new family unit name is added to the list of available choices.
To find an existing family unit to be updated, enter the name of the unit, and select Search.
The matching family unit name is listed.
Select OK.
The Family Unit Setup window opens, with the family unit name selected on the Family Name window.
To change the name of a Family Unit Name or to select another Family Unit, select the Family Name button to return to the Family Name window.
